Check out Consumer Reports; they do a shoot-out every year. Last year they gave the large Whirlpool/Kenmore model the highest marks. The "no fan" Sharper Image received the lowest marks. We bought the Whirlpool for my son, who has asthma, and it's been great.

I dunno... I have an old Ionic Breeze and say what you will about it, but each week it seems to pick up a good layer of dust that I guess would have just landed somewhere in the room otherwise.

Again, I work for a major company that makes air cleaners. The Sharper Image model is about the worst quality air cleaner you can buy. Get one with a good HEPA filter.

I just wear a football helmet with a closed off face mask connected to a vacuum cleaner...
It's a little hard to hear what others are saying, but the air is clear.

I really want a Ionic as I like the fanless idea and the no filter replacements but I keep hearing bad things about them.

That's it, I'm gonna strike it rich. I'll make a sweet sleek-looking gizmo that has absolutely nothing inside, market it as a fanless air purifier which needs no filter changes, and sell it for $20 less than the ionic breeze. I imagine it will pick up pretty much the same amount of dust. Meanwhile, awaspaas = $$$$
And once people start to catch on that there's nothing in there, I'll add some lights, maybe an electrical coil or something to draw a little bit of power. That ought to get me a few more years. I bet Brookstone would be interested....

Well a scramjet has no moving parts either but it blasts air like no tomorrow.
Ozone can reduce smells, I smell it when I walk into stores that sell the Breeze. Also it does seem to collect dust which is good no matter how little it is.
But for the price it should really have wicked results.

Your panties sure are in a wad about The Sharper Image. Did they break up with you or something?
