it's not ugly. Come on. But it is a peecee running WINDOWS.
Toss the Apple logo in the centre of the crossing lines, and no one here would call it ugly.
However, creative they are not, and hopefully this goes the way of those shitty gateway original iMac knock-offs.

Man, it is just so lame how the PC industry blatantly copies what Apple does.

The thing that sucks is that 95% of the people out there might not even realize that it is a blatant ripoff of the Apple Mini.

I wonder how the industrial designers for these companies feel about themselves... I mean do they know they're talentless hacks? Shouldn't someone tell them?

No, i still think it looks ugly. Is that tape on the remote thing in the picture? Furthermore it looks like its made using cheep plastic. I don't think the lines are necessary. Reminds me of design used 10 years ago. Looks like I could buy it at Sharper Image.

Oh, and the kicker - its a "PC"

I hate to break this to you, but there have been tiny PCs around for a couple of years now, including some specific models that are about as small as the mini. The "copying" issue here is just the case style, nothing more.

No, none of the PCs of this type (that I'm aware of) is anywhere near competition for the Mac mini, but they have been around for a while.

(I've been toying with building a PVR using one, but I can't find one with enough room to install a tuner card in.)

indeed, however...

they are clearly riding the coat tails of apple in this instance. trying to satisfy the demand for PC users who like the mac mini but don't like OSX

I would agree with the above statement except for the following.

They are indeed riding the coat tails of Apple in this *and* many other instances, because they are trying to satisfy the demand for PC users who like the design of the Mac, but are litterally chained to their OS by the software choices they make and how really affraid they are of change.

Just so you all understand, this is not coming to market as Intel does not design PC's. They make concepts to spur creativity in the market (I thought that was Apples job).

Just think about all the concepts Intel has shown in the last 5 years. Not one has ever made it to market.

I hate to break this to you, but for years now there's been small form factor macs too -- and either you're talking about Mini ITX or SFF, SFF is WAY bigger than even the g4 cube, and Mini ITX -- a bit smaller than the g4 cube but a lot bigger than a mac mini...

The only competition for the mini is nano ITX, which is linked to pathetically slow processors and onboard shared video.

Did anyone read the article? It's only a concept, nothing but a piece of plastic with a clock stuck to it. No computer inside.

Looks nice though.
