Does anyone know of a site that allows people to share opinions on what technologies are up-and-coming and where businesses are focusing?

For example, years ago people would be talking about C, then a few years later Java would be the hot topic, and today SOA might be the big thing.
yep. I like mozilla, but I also like other programs too. I just chose the name 'cause it was available. (and I was using mozilla at the time)

Given that C has been around since 1972 my guess is that people weren't "talking about C" much by the time Tim Berners-Lee came around to inventing the World Wide Web in 1991.

you can also try techrepublic (most stuff need a free account), informationweek, zdnet sites, IDG publications.
