Well folks I have just had my nose rubbed in the fact that a long string of dreary, rainy, gray days gets me down. Down, down, down. Down, doo be do down down....
Anyway, now that it's cleared off here and I have had some sunshine, I'm feeling much, much better. But I got to wondering how many other people are as much influenced by the weather as I am.
How about it? Does a gray day make you blue? What about a bright, sunny day, does it cheer you up no matter what?

Weather affects my mood. I'm not necessarily sad because of rain, but it doesn't help. Sunny days definitely make me feel good. It's all in my head, of course. I'm not always feeling blue on rainy days, nor am I always cheerful on sunny days. But there is a correlation for me.
The weather got warmer here over the weekend, and now it's cold again. So I'm pissed about that. I want the warmth of Spring to come and stay. I'm really tired of the cold.

I hate the heat so when its humid I am always in a bad mood. I had a teacher in high-school though that got really moody when it was gray and cloudy outside, kinda bad when you live in chicago.

Perhaps Minnesota is not the ideal location for you, then.

Yeah, I've told myself yet again this year that this is my last winter here. Since spring is only a few weeks away I'm going to stay until winter of next year at which time I hope to fly south with the geese and not come back.

In a word, yes. I made my choice of college largely based on climate: Charlottesville, Virginia, vs. South Bend, Indiana.

I'll be the odd man out: I love it when it rains. I love winter (including the cold temps) too. The rain is like a cool shower that comes down to cleanse everything while in winter I love it when all I can see for miles is the snow covered landscape.
I don't so much hate the summer, but I don't like it. It has a negative connotation for me because I always have to do outside chores in the summer, which are the hardest, and so they are the ones I hate the most. Plus I always get roped into mowing all kinds of lawns and other yardwork in the summer since my older brother recently went to college and so a lot of his old responsibilities have now befallen me.
Ugh...I wish winter could stay a little longer.

You couldn't be more correct. Luckily I graduate from college in a few months and will be promptly relocating.

SAD: Seasonal Affective Disorder. Apparently a lot of folks are affected by it.
Weather doesn't really affect my mood, but I do prefer the spring for multiple reasons.

i am a total weather person. so much so that i am completely different when it's rainy, gloomy and especially cold outside than when it's sunny and warm.
i become depressed to the point where i'm almost physically sick. 'doesn't really help that the average temperature is 0°C (32°F) here (unusually cold for march).
if i had my way i'd move to a place where it's 28°C all year round on average. as a matter of fact it is very high on my list of priorities.

I'm usually depressed no matter what, but rainy days make me cheerful. Let's me know that everyone else is having a bad day and not just me.
Well, that, and I just really like rain. I plan to move to Ireland some day.

Any change of weather, esp drastic change effects my mood.
Rainy days do depress, but the rain at night calms me.

All God's creatures are subject to influences due to weather. From the tuna fish in the sea to the wild cats in the jungle and the elephants in heat in an african savanah on a particularly hot day. For most humans rain can have a particularly telling effect by decreasing serotonein levels in the brain, hence you feel low, when it shines the serotonein level goes up and you feel better. This can happen the reverse in some other people and this may be due to what the moisture level outside was when they were born. When you are born you are usually crying and you are all wet, see what I mean. This is a simple explanation but it may not be true, but it may make you feel better, if it makes you feel better then it is true because it made you feel better, but that has nothing to do with the weather at all if you can see what I mean, which brings us back to the question. Similarly music can also influence how you feel, this everyone understands better.

I don't think that my discomfort with rainy days is as much SAD as it is with the rain just going on and on and on... Living in San Antonio, Texas, we constantly have to be concerned about water use, since the whole region is dependent on the Edwards Aquifer for drinking water. It seems likely that very soon, the aquifer will overflow!
Worse than that, it seems that as road conditions deteriorate people become poorer drivers, taking risks on wet roads that they don't seem to take on dry roads. On Sunday it was drizzling, which equates to very slippery condidions here. People were jack-rabbiting from lights, "pushing" yellow lights to the extent that they were actually running them at red, following far too close, just about everything bad you can do on slick streets. Bad driving makes me anxious in otherwise good contitions, but since I had to be out in the drizzle, the BADDER driving got to me much worse.
Anyway, after some spectacular weather yesterday morning, it cleared up beautifully, so by last night it was clear and beautiful, and I started feeling MUCH better. I'm going to have to pay a lot of attention to how much influence I let this sort of thing have over me.

Not so much. When winter starts hanging around longer than it should that affects my mood and spring is always so filthy (all the water, salt, and sand everywhere ). Other than that I enjoy all the seasons.

Yes, weather affects my mood.
This morning I awakened to a rainy overcast and windy day and all of the little problems seemed compounded.
My baby got up at 4 o'clock in the morning and wanted to play so I sat in the nursery with him while he played with his favorite LOUD and noisy toys until about 6 o'clock AM.
One of my children took the dog's favorite toy away from him last night...and the dog crapped in the middle of his bed as revenge this morning. (I didn't blame the dog either, to be honest.)
The dreary day made the little problems seem bigger. Even the poop in the middle of the white sheets on the bed seemed larger than life.

I did get depressed when I worked in Minnesota as it got dark so early in Duluth during the dreary winter months. But on the other extreme, living and working in Singapore has been an adjustment because the weather is always close to the same, 90+ in the days, around low 80s at night, high humidity and chance of afternoon showers.
It's actually been nice when I've gone somewhere and the weather is cooler just to experience that again.
As far as SAD goes, natural lighting in the house (and plenty of it) can do wonders.
GH, I lived in San Antone as well and other than the sultry summers, things were pretty nice (missed the floods, thankfully). Should be enjoying that weather cuz it's going to get hot, hot right about the time the Spurs grab another NBA title.

I like all weather, expect really hot weather (and I live in South Texas, no less). Rain, sunshine, snow -- it doesn't seem to have any affect on me. But if it's hot outside, I get real pissy if I'm stuck out in it.

Sunny, hot, humid, & muggy in the summer is what has a negative effect on my mood.

This will change as you get older and leave the house.
Edit:
To chime in: Yeah, weather affects me, that's why I love California. It has just the right balance.
