Why is ABC editing out the logo on the wife's t-shirt?

Don't shows do that all the time with logos - so there's no free advertising?

not seeing it though.

ABC's new cop series

There was a 5 minute scene where one of the characters had a logo on her t-shirt blurred out, and rather poorly

Yeah, I saw that.

Guess they think we're all blind. Or going blind.

Kinda like Daredevil, except he's a ninja cop instead of a ninja lawyer.

Why not just have her wear something logoless when filming? And, the edit was horribly done, big blurry oval floating over her chest. At first I thought she maybe had a wardrobe malfunction.

That's pretty much the summary of it. It was alright last night, I'll watch another episode.

Trademark issues. They can't legally show logos unless they're licensed.

Personally, I prefer the Japanese method, where they come up with something so similar to an existing trademark that it's obvious what they mean, but not quite similar enough to get them into trouble. "Popsi" and "WcDonalds" are some of my favorites. If nothing else, it's good for a laugh.

Still doesn't answer the question: why did they film her wearing a logo'd shirt in the first place?

I haven't seen the show but since I see the blurred-out logo thing on a lot of reality shows, maybe ABC is just doing it to give the show a sense of realism.

Off-topic: Did anyone ever see the Rutger Hauer movie "Blind Justice?" That was so cheese, but the last scene made it worth it for me.

Yes, I think I phrased my question wrong. A better question would have been "Why did the producers of Blind Justice film characters wearing logos that would likely have to be editted out?" and "Why did ABC do such a pathetic job of editing?"

Not that I really care; the show was mediocre at best.

Do you mean Blind Fury? As for having to blur out a logo or whatever, there's simply no excuse to do something like that, especially on the shows premier. They could have edited the scene, re shot the scene, used cgi to hide it or just paid for it, or let the lawyers take care of it.
If I was anyway involved with the project I would be pissed for such a poorly executed cover up.

I saw it last evening and thought that it was pretty good. Still miss "NYPD Blue", but this seems like a good replacement.

I used to notice quite often here in the UK that Carrie Bradshaw's PowerBook in Sex and the City had the Apple logo either covered or blurred when the show was shown on terrestrial television (Channel 4), but it is not blurred on the DVDs, and never saw it blurred on HBO.

I dind't watch Blind Justice. After 12 years of NYPDBlue, I need a break from the gritty cop drama.

is that show finally on, i am so sick and tired of the promos on tv and radio for it.
