I have had a cell phone only for the past two years. Now because of a move to a new place with very poor reception on my cell I have to get a land line phone. With job interviews coming up I need a reliable phone and voicemail. I can not do voice over IP because of issues with port blocking on the broadband service included in my building. So that leaves me with the traditional phone service. Is there any alternative to SBC Ameritech that could provide basic local (long distance not needed) service at an inexpensive price?
