Yesterday my brother called me to tell me he's having his car dyno'd at a shop right around the corner from my house.. so my roommate and I hopped in his ride and went over to watch the insanity.

It's a full-on street car, air conditioning, power everything.. some bolt-on parts, and electronic tuning. 440+HP to the rear wheels, 560 lb. ft/tq.

enjoy : )

How much did the dyno'ing set him back?

Back in WA, my car underwent the same thing when it had to pass the emissions test. Is "dyno" east coast slang for emissions test?

Wow, I've heard of it costing several hundred dollars at some local shops here in LA.

"dyno" is short for "dynograph". It's a device that is used to measure the power output of an engine to the wheels. The device used to test emissions in your case probably had a similiar setup, but instead of measuring performance, I'm guessing it was to keep the car stationary while someone revved it to get a reading for the emissions test.

the song reveals something about the setup in the car. I thought I wasn't even being clever with that.

Nice. Pump gas I presume. How much boost is he running?
I've had my car dyno'ed a few times and it's always an awesome experience. The sound is enough to make you go deaf! I'll have to see if I've got some pictures from my car on the dyno.

Camaro would still be around if it didn't look like sh*t after the early 70s. Ford got it right with the Mustang. If they brought back the classic muscle look to the Camaro, I bet it'd sell like hot cakes.

I always think, "DAMN! I hear that! Must be an awesome... oh."
