I recently sold my hardly used V600 on eBay. I mistakenly said that it was ATT/Cingular compatible. It is ATT compatible, but I guess you have to get it unlocked for Cingular. Does anyone know how to do this, how much it costs, and what exactly needs to be done. It's alot of work to give them money back, etc and lose all the fees.

please help.

How long have you had the phone ?
T-Mobil for instance will give you the unlock code after three months.

Try to ask AT&T if they would do that.

About 9 months- but not used. I cancelled the AT&T contract recently- thus why I sold the phone.

Both good resources for cell phone and carrier related issues. I'm at work, and smartfilter blocks both, so all the assistance I can give is the linkage. Good luck.

I have a V600 with Cingular and they shipped it unlocked (because it's billed as a world phone). Dunno what other carriers do. Since AT&T is now Cingular, I don't see why they wouldn't give you the unlock code if necessary.
