Thanks for the link. It looks good. Its about time they made zelda look good.
Graphics that good makes me wonder how many times they are going to push back any release dates they give us now. I swear nintendo and ms are like bed buddies when it comes to release dates.
btw does anyone remember the details to this picture?

What is a tech demo? Why did you have to yell? Its morning and im already getting screamed at for my ignorance. This usually does not happen till later in the day.
on a lighter note, i got so tired of waiting for nintendo to release the first zelda on the n64 that i traded the n64 for a ps1, and never looked back. Although i do miss golden eye.

Dunno but the ebgames store here at easton has a release date of 6/2 on the display boxes, plus the chance to reserve the game for $5. I reserved my copy though I'm sure the release date may change. Trailer looks fantastic.

I wasn't that impressed with the Zelda trailer. I don't know. Graphically, it just didn't look better than Metroid or Resident Evil 4. I expect more from a flagship title released right at the end of a consoles life.
I'll still get it of course. It's a no brainer.

I loved the style, but did not like all the sailing.
Sitting in a boat for 5 minutes doing nothing, only to stumle upon a tiny island with a statue on it you don't know what to do with is not my idea of fun.

I originally thought that Nintendo might cancel this version and release it early in the life of their next console "Revolution". But seeing as how Nintendo is releasing movies of it running on a GameCube, it's clearly not heading in this direction. It still could, however, at this stage it would be unlikely.
With this said, it looks like GameCube owners still have an awesome game experience to look forward to.

I liked that graphic style (a lot actually), however, I just never felt that it was a good match for the Zelda universe. I think it would have been better as an original game with different characters.
This new Zelda looks like its going back to it's roots and Orcania of Time style and I couldn't be happier. This game is gonna be awesome and a real eye catcher at E3.

I loved it. I know they like to switch things up for the Zelda line (just imagine how much more complaining Zelda 2 would've gotten if the internet were mainstream then), but I think I might miss the WW style. I'm sure I'll get over it after playing for a while.

Unfortunately this series has lost some of it's appeal to me. Really one of my all time fav's, but I think Link needs a new image. He needs to be bulkier, or wear more armor, I don't know. Lol, it's PowerHouse for you buddy. To be honest though, now that I see this trailer, I appreciate the Windwaker art more. Windwaker stayed true to the Japanese heritage of the game's creators, and although I didn't like it until just now, it was kinda cool. Skip, you're not the only one anymore.

Doesn't matter. Nintendo has already stated Revolution can play Gamecube games.

Nope; I loved it.
This trailer looks dark and grimy. Cinder block dungeons; guh... it's been done before (many, many, many times before).
Ohwell, maybe everyone will shut up about Wind Waker not looking exactly like Ocarina of Time with better hardware now.

Maybe they could put a helmet on him and call him Master Link. Then it would be cool.

haha too many people want to turn it into Quake 3.. I like WW a *LOT*, about as much as I like OoT, and I'm really happy to see this, though I do hope there's another WW style game in the future!
I can't believe someone would write off a zelda game because "the graphics don't look too great" -- geez..

When did it say that? I thought Nintendo was already on record saying Revolution would use an entirely new media format.
EDIT: Never mind.
But yeah, this game will be for the 'Cube. Rumor has it Mario 128's development was shifted to Revolution long ago, though.

I think Nintendo said they went with the GameCube's disc format to protect itself against software piracy, or something like that. I wonder if they'll do the same with the Revolutions disc format...
Nintendo needs to snap their heads back on and realize that the average consumer wants the ability to watch DVD's and backwards compatibility with older game systems. True, the main purpose and idea of a game system should be games, but that doesn't mean these other things aren't important. I think the backwards compatibility thing is huge.

Um, you might want to look at the numbers. The PS2 is the clear winner this round. It's not even close.

The average user don't know an XBox uses USB, let alone wants to hack it. That was a very silly comment you made.

Lets see I know 15 people that have Xbox's, only 2 of them are not moded, and 3 people that own PS2's, none moded, and 2 of the 3 also own Xbox's. Hoot Hoot

are you stoned or just stupid. Go read up further and look at the post I was replying to. I was defending why I commented the Xbox being more popular based on the people I know who have gaming systems. I stand by my orginally case. I think Xbox is more popular because of how many people I know who have them. I never said Xbox was more popular in all of Canada, I just said from what I have seen its more popular.

I'm typing this on a Microsoft keyboard connected to an XP box.
I was not claiming the Xbox is not popular. I was claiming few people modify them, despite the fact most people you know have.

And it would be hard to find stats on that too. Granted most of my friends that did had it done in the last 3 months after they saw what it was like when a couple of our other friends did it. For moded systems its def the best and Game Cube is the worst hehe. I do like the PS2 controllers more, and games overall they are the same but there are some xBox games that are increadable for graphics.

I did think there seemed to be a lot of lotr inspired stuff in the two trailers though. Not a criticism, just you can see where some of their ideas have come from.

It looks awesome. One thing I would love (although I doubt it will happen) is to have an orchestral, movie-quality soundtrack in the game. The music from the other Zelda games was good, but an orchestrally-played soundtrack would kick ass.

If XBox overtakes PS2 ever I will gladly eat my own foot.
Also, Sony supports modding of the PS2, as where Microsoft does not. Sony even supported a Linux distribution for the PS2.

Didn't they originally say in the Spring? Regardless, I have a feeling you'll have your answers at E3. TBA is a very safe thing for Nintendo to say...

No, your 'average' gamer dosent want a console they can hack. your average geek/nerd/dweeb wants a console they can hack. Average users want a gaming console that does it's job well at a low price. Just cause most of your friends have modded xboxes, dosent mean that the rest of the xbox users on this planet do the same. And as far as the XBox overtaking the PS2.... the Xbox's weekly sales figures in Japan are still lower than a thousand. It's not doing so well in Europe and it's doing pretty well in N.America. PS2's worldwide sales lead that of the XBox (and Gamecube) buy a HUGE margin (something like 40-50 million units).
As far as Zelda... i loved the cell shaed look. looks great and is a great style. (for some reason i liked the cartoon styling of Sly Cooper or something on the PS2). This version of Zelda definately seems to have a lot in common with Lord of the rings... the dead guys, the giant spiders, those flying lizard things.
But as far as the artistic style of the game goes..it's breathtaking. It's not 'realistic', but at the same time it's not lik a cartoon. It looks like illustrations from storybooks...i mean every frame looks like an illustration. i dont know if it's the lighting n shading model or just the models themselves. Very good work.
And eah i also hope they use a fully orchestrated soundtrack. that would just make the game complete. As far as shipping dates.... im hoping for holidayseason 2005.
Cheers

All I can say is, they better not forget the Zelda song like they did with Ocarina of Time.
Oh, for the record, my XBox is not modded. It's a freaking game system! It's literally a black box, and that's as it should be.
