I can't afford Apple's media, can someone suggest a brand of equal quality, but not of equal cost?

I've been using Memorex 4X direct printable media for over a year. When I bought my last pack, they were $169 for a 100 pack. I've not checked to see if they're available in smaller amounts, at a correspondingly inexpensive price.

I got the TDK PrintOn DVD-R (50 pack) for about thirty dollars at Costco. So far I have burned two or three DVDs from my mini without any trouble.

EDIT: Price and Theo beat me to it.

Me too, they're good. Also perfect with Maxell's 8x DVD-Rs.

Ritek. Do not waste your money on retail DVDs.

Out of 500+ burned at 12x, 1 coaster.

Another vote for Imation. It is all I use, both DVD-R and CD-R.

'Apple' media is just rebranded Maxell. Buying the repackaged 'Apple' media is a serious waste of $.

Ditto on Ritek being best. Pioneer drives work perfectly with Ritek media, which can be bought cheaply in bulk. An added benefit of Ritek, is that they generally will burn at twice the rated speed when used with Pioneer drives with updated firmware. For me, not one coaster ever with hundreds of Ritek 8x burned at between 12x-16x.

I had at least 8 boxes of Apple-brand 4X DVD-R media. Meanwhile, I don't buy them anymore... but I don't see it as a waste of money.

Gonna have to vote Verbatim. It's very good media for both CD-R and DVD-R.

I have a pack of 50 I'm about to go into.

I got an assload of Maxell DVD-R disks when Staples was clearing them out for $3.50 for 20 discs... they work fine for me.

I've used sony and memorex without problems as well...

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.
