My HD bit the dust on my iBook G4 and i had to call it in to get it repaired. Thank god, that i spent the money on AppleCare, because she died on me about 2 weeks after my 1 year warrantee. evilness huh? Heh.

Since i have other macs in the house, i was in no hurry to get it fixed and i asked them to just send a box. and now that i think about it. It saved me time and gas. =)

I sent it out on thursday and got it back on monday. Freaking sweet. I work for dell (sales) and people tell me that dell takes about 2 weeks to fix their stuff. anyways... So i get back Crystal and i am going through the registration prosses and bam!, Kernel panic. joy.

no biggie, i simply tried to re-install ex, and it gave me a kernel panic while booting up to the cd. So i just called up and they are sending another box.

i know these things happen here and there, but what pleases me the most about this experience is that when i sent Crystal in for repair, she had a dead HD and a missing foot, (i didint even tell them that she had a missing foot) and when i got her back they hooked it up!

ok too much caffeine this morning.

for working for Dell.

But, for Apple and AppleCare.

I called Apple about the fact that our eMac bezel is cracking around the edges and mentioned what happened with my Apple keyboard and even though I told him it works perfectly they insisted on sending a brand new keyboard to us.

I LOVE APPLECARE! It's worth every single dime.

Glad to hear AppleCare is working out for you folks. I might buy it after the one-year warranty expires on my machine (if I keep it that long).

Here in my office we've had two 20" iMacs go out with identical video card problems. Rather than send them to Apple, we are sending them to a small local repair shop. They have had the computers for two weeks because the part in question is on back order. Not only that, but we paid a courier TWICE to take the systems from our office to their shop.

It makes no sense. I've said ver and over again that we should have called Apple and that if the part is on backorder at the shop that Apple either has it right now, or will definitally get it WAY before this shop.

We should have had our Macs back a week ago. Sometimes I think the people I work with are nuts.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

I have to disagree, I work with a lot with dell, I have called in a defective monitor at 2:00 pm and have received the replacement the next day. I currently have a new powerbook in for repair that arrived with a dead airport card, it has been over two weeks with no eta for a replacement part. I was told that a replacement machine would take over a month, applecare sucks IMHO

I'm still out on waiting for a new Japanese keyboard to be shipped to my local dealer (out here in Vancouver, no official Apple Stores...). I've got an AC case number, AC themselves said it shouldn't be a lengthy wait, yet here I am a week and a half later still waiting to hear if my keyboard is available or not.

I just wonder if the local dealer has enough incentive to treat me on the same level as someone who actually purchased the hardware through them instead of some random Apple customer off the street...
