Am I entitled to return software after a year?

Hi, I bought logic express last year and Im very unhappy with how it crashes(quits itself) and is so user unfriendly. Apple's website says software must be returned unopened and within a certain time after purchase. That still doesn't take from the fact that the product I bought doesn't do what it should (ie not crash all the time).
This is my first time paying for software and it sure isn't encouraging.

Any thoughts?

So you've had it for a year and have only just got round to thinking it's worth returning?? You don't stand a chance I'm afraid. Otherwise when I upgrade to 10.4 I'd just return my copy of 10.3 and claim 'it, uh, crashed all the time... yeah'.

Maybe there are problems with your system if this crashes all the time? Or is this a generall acknowledged problem with this software?

This is the more likely culprit than a problem with Logic Express - I think we'd be hearing about significant stability problems with LE if everyone were having them.

Maybe you should have pirated it the same way you pirated the rest of your software.

Have read nothing but positive comments; am actually thinking
of going to this after I get more familliar with iMovie/iDVD.

Use the Apple discussion forums and get your problem straightened
out; have found that to be most useful.

i am not a Logic user but have you trained using the software at some institution or used it professionally?

i have not really heard this complaint before. this feels like when freshmen claim Quark and Indesign are of no use and complicate the design process. when in realiity they don't know how to use the program or don't understand what they are used for.

thats what i was thinking, it shouldn't have taken you long to figure out that the software was working for you and then you could have sold it off without losing too much money. so its my opinion that you arent entitled to return it.

I bought my PowerBook17 last year and got it for the price of a 15 with extended AppleCare thrown in.
I did have to take for a replacement LCD but other than that, no problems.
But it only has a 80GB hard drive, not a 100GB as the new models do.
Am I entitled to return my hardware after six months?

Of course not. And it's a silly thing to ask about that as well as your software question. Sheesh.

Apple has a return policy, usually ten days. After that there is no return allowed.

Have you repaired permissions recently? Are other apps crashing regularly. Have you tried reinstalling the app there might be a problem with your install.

There is something wrong with your install of Logic Express.

Either the Logic Preference file in /youruserhomefolder/Library/Preferences is fuct, or you have some other software installed that is messing up CoreAudio or such like.

Do you have Detour installed?

Are you running LE on the recommended OS version?

Is your copy of LE updated to the latest version?

Is LE the only application that unexpectedly quits?

Are the quits random? is there something specific you are doing that provokes a crash?

Why the hell did you wait a WHOLE YEAR before deciding that something was wrong, and WHY DIDN'T YOU POST IN THE DIGITAL A/V OR SOFTWARE FORUMS ASKING FOR TROUBLESHOOTING HELP BEFORE POSTING SUCH AN INANE QUESTION HERE???

Enough thoughts to get you started, I should think.
