i have a little too much time at work so i busted out my ibook and staked it up against the 600m.

Yeah people still insist on having a floppy drive on their pcs, so this 600m has the option for a modular floppy drive.

You work at a Dell mini-store in a mall. Do you get employee discount?

it is not a mini store, they would be lucky to call it that, it is a Kiosk. We are employed through a job agency, so technically i do not work for dell, hence i do not get an employee discount.

not that i would buy anything from dell. =)

Why?

And this is only a physical comparison - what about price/specs? We all know that the iBook is better on a design front all-round (except for the floppy drive! ) so again: Why?

I bought my wife an Inspiron 600m last year. It's not bad. Dell laptops are actually pretty good, the only major drawback is the Windows thing.
I have an Inspiron 8600 and in a month or so, I'm wiping XP Hell out of it and putting Ubuntu on it. I've had it up to *here* with XP.

I'm hoping for a $2500 (roughly) backpayment from the Navy in June or July. If I get that, say hello to a brand new 15" Powerbook.
