..had some good times playing this game as a kid. Smashing the glass, the grumpy janitor...ahh.
Anyway I've searched around a bit and can't find anywhere to play it...on modern hardware. I figured someone would've emulated or even recreated it for web play.
Anyone heard of anything..or will I need to by an Apple II and play the original.

The game lost its soul when Electronic Arts replaced Dr. J with Michael Jordan.
And don't get me started with what's wrong with Jordan vs. Shaq.
Seriously, the closest you'll get to that sort of thing on today's hardware is NBA Street and NBA Ballers. (And those are only available for game consoles and portables, not computers.)

I have this for my radio shack color computer circa 1983.
I think they used about 12 pixels to render each player.

This game had been ported to the Mac, as I remember playing this game for hours on my Mac SE. I'd love to play this game as well. I was great at breaking the glass.

Beer beer beer tiddly beer beer beer
A long time ago, way back in history
When all there was to drink was nothing but cups of tea
Along came a man by the name of Charlie Mops
And he invented a wonderful drink and made it out of hops
Hey!
He must have been an admiral a sultan or a king
And to his praises we shall always sing
Look what he has done for us he's filled us up with cheer!
Lord bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer beer beer tiddly beer beer beer
The Drunken Rat, the Aiken Drum, the Frowles Pub as well
One thing you can be sure of, it's Charlie's beer they sell
So all ye lads and lasses at eleven O'clock ye stop
For five short seconds, remember Charlie Mops
One, two, three, four, five
Hey!
He must have been an admiral a sultan or a king
And to his praises we shall always sing
Look what he has done for us he's filled us up with cheer!
Lord bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer beer beer tiddly beer beer beer
A barrel of malt, a bushel of hops, you stir it around with a stick
The kind of lubrication to make your engines tick
Forty pints of wallop a day will keep away the quacks
It's only eight pence hapenny and one six in tax
One, two, three, four, five
Hey!
He must have been an admiral a sultan or a king
And to his praises we shall always sing
Look what he has done for us he's filled us up with cheer!
Lord bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer beer beer tiddly beer beer beer tiddly beer beer beer
The lord bless Charlie Mops!

I remember Dr.J vs Larry Bird! That was a good game—played it on the Apple II in the Chemistry Lab.
I'm not much of a gamer any more, but I do question the name of "NBA Ballers"?
