We know about WW I and WWII, Vietnam, Korea and Desert Storm. Countries everywhere fight wars, etc..
Was just wondering..of all the wars this planet has witnessed, which one is the greatest battle ? Things like the crusade come to my mind. Could it be Europeans conquering the new worlds ? or the neverending battle for Jerusalem ?
I guess the things that would classify as relevant would be....
-the length of time that the battle lasted
-clashes of civilizations and cultures
To me, i'd say it was the crusades, cause in my opinion, it has had the most profound effect on society since then. I mean the world would have entirely different today if it had gone differently.....not just borders of countries, but idealogically, spiritually, culturally,etc....
What do you guys thing ?
Cheers

I think the greatest battle would be the one that ended quickly.

How about the American Civil War? It's made a pretty big impact for a large number of people.

I believe the word is "war" not "battle".

Or, "batte" as the thread title suggests...
