Another simple question/poll to create more provocative thinking. If you’re beloved pet dog or cat or what ever animal you cherish most suffered a brain injury and money was no object to you. Would you allow your pet to live on in a vegetative state with either a heart lung machine, or feeding tub or both just so you didn't have to lose him yet. Even if this meant years to keep your non responsive, non interactive pet alive. Me personally I think that would be inhuman, funny how it’s different for a human eh.

I didn't vote. The choices are to limiting.
I would have voted: Unplug. It's a waste of money.
Or: Keep plugged in, the organs can be donated later, but I'm not paying for it.
Lastly, do we really need yet another thread about this topic?

Yes we do because I am going somewhere with it and I cant have more then one poll in a topic. There is actually going to be a third poll later today before I get to my main thread about this which will refer to the 3 polls.
So far not many results but again the results I was expecting. My question is this, why would we treat animals better then a human.

Well, when you get to your point let us know.

There aren't many result because it's a lame over-done topic covered in other threads.

No it's not. Your question was this:" who here would plug a lifeless animal into a feeder ..."

Why did you think that? Did you expect as much from the many nutjobs here?

No, why on earth would anybody pay for an animal like a cow to be on life support? But the animal:human analogy is obviously flawed. I would put neither a braindead human nor animal on life support. But the difference is that there's a chance I would like to eat the animal after it died, and I don't think I would want to eat Terry Schiavo.

I realize you're making a joke, but seriously, you should consider the treatment of the geese in foie gras.

That'd be cool. Keep the dead cow fresh all the way to the store before you grill them and plug them into your feeder system. Better than Kobe beef.

Euthanasia is a noun, not a verb. The verb form is euthanize.

We have ended up putting all of our dogs to sleep. Once that a dog is suffering and is past the chance of healing, the most human thing is to put them to sleep.
