To make things shorter cause i’m stll not all here yet. I went to sleep at 2 am and got up at 8. What on earth is that that they gave me????

here is a picture of what i drunk. the amount? Well you know those solo cups? when they gave it to me it was about 75% full and i drunk it all.

dunno, looks like it might be pretty tough stuff tho. when my friends hand me a cup, I must know what's in it. I then decide if the amount they gave me and the taste of the beverage come together in a happy marriage. if not, I either don't drink it or I say 'why the **** did you give me so much sucka?'.

pace yourself young man.

It certainly looks like wine. Too bad you didn't actually get to enjoy the drink.

I'm shocked nobody noticed this earlier.

You drank something that made you inebriated, and you have no idea what you drank.
That's just about as smart as that 911 caller at Burger King in another thread...

Why on earth would you drink something, and not know what it was?

I'm reminded of Socrates' last words.

"I drank what?"

Looks like uzzo.

I also just noticed you are in So-cal... lol... same sate as the Burger King caller.
You live near San Clemente? It might just have been the water.

More importantly, did you have fun!

Last night, I went to bed early and didn't drink anything... why, because the night before I stayed up all night drunk and in bed with this girl. The work day sucked, hence, Friday night, in bed by 11 was heaven sent.

It looks like an ouzzo or grappa. I've had my fair share of fine global drinks. I treated myself to a wine bar in an Italian restaurant on Canon Drive, Beverly Hills this last week. I might make it my regular haunt. A nightly glass of wine ranging from $10 to $30 a glass. Hmmmm.

okay yeah. it's either:
A. tequila (looks reeealllly familiar, the bottle... I brought it into photoshop and blew it up but to no avail. i frequent a sick ass tequila joint and they'll have it if it's tequila. the fact that you drank a whole glass of the stuff makes me think it's not tequila.

B. grappa.. yea, possibly. i work at an italian place, but we don't have THAT grappa. oh, and GROSS.

C. ouzzo, possibly. Oh, and (quite surely) GROSS.

let's find out. i'll do my part.

Red Bull and vodka? Jeesh, I hope you didn't spill any on your skirt.

Anyway, that’s Corralejo. Not top shelf tequila but not the worst in the world either. The blue bottle is the worst of the three tiers they sell. But if you aren't a drinker I am not sure why you would start out with that considering everyone was drinking Buds. There aren't manythings that tequila should be mixed with and if you aren't used to it straight I am surprised you took more than a shot or two before you stopped... red bull, that's fricking hilarious.

[guess that comment was directed at me since the original poster in the thread neither mentioned vodka nor red bull]

Think grappa is an Italian liquor (not sure). Ouzo is a Greek liquor;
tastes like licorice; my landlord in college gave us a bottle every year
for Xmas - we saved it for parties.

Gross; by that, I think he meant "yuk", nasty, awful. Although he may
have meant grotesque - same, but different spelling.

If you should happen to party with these people again, just a couple
shots of tequilla is enough for a pleasant "buzz".
And the Red Bull and vodka is actually pretty good, IMHO, and
currently a pretty popular drink in CA.
Glad you're feeling better Kino.

the label on the bottle clearly says "Tequila", a liquor produced in Mexico from Agave plants.

A good grappa, ouzo, or tequila is like a good whisky: just a few sips or a shot.

Cheap liquor is for morons who enjoy waking up smelling like puke.

Good liquor is for moderation. You can get drunk off good liquor, but it should take quite some time to do so.

Else, it's just wasted.

Then why did you drink it to begin with?

That stuff is no more than $45 a bottle in the US, the 215 is in Mexican pesos.

I thought it might be, since I couldn't see why a Mexican website should have all its prices in USD. But I didn't know they used $ for Pesos in Mexico, so I figured for some reason it pretty much had to be.

But $45 for a bottle of Tequila, that's still pretty expensive. The cheap-o stuff my friends normally drink (if and when they drink Tequila) is no more than about $20 per bottle.

Depending on how you mix it, vodka/RedBull can hit you pretty hard. My old flatmate always drank only vodka/RedBull in our (or rather, his) regular bar, and he got pretty drunk from it (this is a guy who in his own words has been living on liquid food for six years). Then again, it was about 10% RedBull and 90% vodka.

Red bull is basically no more potent than coffee. If anyone says otherwise they are morons. The company has done a wonderful job with the marketing and suckering so many into believing it will give you an abnormally strong perk but it is all BS. Using it as a mixer with vodka, which was also another ploy by the company to sell the crap, is just as you said: dependant on the amount of vodka you mix with it. It has nothing to do with the redbull.

Because it tastes so terrible I think it leads people to believe that they are drinking something stronger than what it is. In truth if you mix Absolut with Coke you get a drink that will match redbull & (any) vodka in every claim about potency and as a pick-me-up. Plus it won’t taste as rancid.

Basically the joke is on people who buy this crap because they usually charge more for the drink and they use rail vodka since the quality of the alcohol used is masked.

As for $20 tequila, I wouldn’t drink it. I probably did in college but now I know better. Drowning it in margarita mix isn’t even enough to hide the taste. A good tequila like Patron, which is what I normally buy, is far smoother than even stuff like Cuervo. It doesn’t hurt to drink and you don’t need to chase it down with a lime.

Well, he only drank vodka/RedBull because that was the only drink he really liked, so I guess his tastebuds are different from yours. I don't think anyone really believes there's any 'kick' in RedBull anymore, but he really liked the stuff (I'm on your side here, the stuff is undrinkable, but such are we humans).

And he got it for $1.20 per drink (normal drinking glass), so fairly cheap.

Strange that you would pick Absolut Vodka, though. I don't know about the States, but here, Absolut is more or less the cheapest (and probably crappiest) vodka you can get, and only students drink it.

Over here, Absolut is an imported vodka, and therefore presumed to be high-class stuff.
BTW, did anybody else read the NY Times article on a recent vodka tasting competition?
Plain old Smirnoff took first place, beating out fancy high-priced brands like Gray Goose.

Absolut is nowhere near the cheapest here in Kansas, at least. I can't ever remember seeing students drinking Absolut in my two years here. It's the cheap Barton's or Viodka crap, usually.

Also,

I hate Red Bull. I hate straight vodka (at least the cheap stuff). But put the two together, and I love the taste. Don't know why, I just go with it.

absolut(e) 100% ******** (excuse the pun). (vodka) red bull gives you a completely different "kick" than anything you get mixed with coke.

i don't know the ingredients for red bull (btw, i am pretty sure neither do you), but as far as a "pick-me-up" goes, you really can't compare it to coke, or coffee (maybe jolt, but not pepsi or coca cola).

in regards to the taste...well, i guess to each his own.

the bad part about red bull is though, that (when taken in high doses over a long period of time) it can cause stomach "problems" (had that happen to a friend last year). that's why i never drink that much for too long. anyway, it's (almost) summertime, bring on the mojito...

absolut is one of the more expensive vodkas you can get here. what are some of the high priced brands in denmark?

btw, i like "fris" vodka (don't know how to do the "i" thing ), most people i know hate it though.

Siberian Ice is the cheapest vodka I have ever seen but either way, I am not a vodka drinker. In fact I hate the stuff. Absolut just came to mind because I wanted to use an example of a vodka drink that had caffeine and Citron and Coke is the only thing I could think of off the top of my head.
And no way you would pay $1.20 per drink here in the city for that concoction. Even in a college town I bet you’d have to fork over about $5 for it. Here in Chicago I think the going rate for that should be around $9 - $11 which again I think is overpriced no matter what brand of vodka they use. Either I am going to pay more for quality alcohol or less for a quick buzz.
As I said, I think ultimately the people who buy it are the ones who are taken advantage of and look stupid drinking it. It’s a drink for people who have not yet learned to order a proper cocktail and it isn’t even that potent. I can see how people may have developed an acquired taste for it if at 18 it was the only thing they knew ask a bartender for. After a while it just tastes normal and you may even associate it psychologically with having a good time. But really you might as well order a mudslide or other novelty drink if you are guzzling down red bull.
I’ll tell you what.: Next time those of you who drink this crap go out, try a Vodka Gimlet instead. If the bartender uses a mid grade vodka and real lime juice instead of Rose’s it will be a vast improvement over your current drink of choice without being too far a departure.

Caffeine and taurine. Which I am quite familiar with from actual supplements used in conjunction with lifting. And no red bull really doesn’t do anything strange to your body. Its all in your head.

What you are looking for is something that mimics the results of amphetamines and drinking. Caffeine and alcohol is not going to kill you unless you take in a lot of both. If red bull did work it would be far more dangerous than it is. You are wrong.

LOL. where else would it be?

i didn't say it does something "strange" to your body, i said red bull vodka gives you a "kick" (at least in sufficient quantities) which can't be compared to drinking a "rum and coke" or coffee, - that's all.

and yes, i personally and others i have talked to have "felt" the same way...

in a (very mild) way it does (of course comparing vodka red bull to dropping an "e" and drinking two or three shots of vodka, would be like comparing red bull to coffee...)

I dunno why people waste money on Red Bull to mix with drinks. You want pep? Get a bottle of Allens Peppermint Schnapps (101 proof) and put a pot of coffee on, that'll do ya. Gimme a few limes and a bottle of Tequila anyday though. But if you must use Red Bull try mixing it with Jaggermeifter ( I like a 2/3 ratio of booze).

Around here the cheapest Vodka is Jenkins and I think I know the Hispanic guy that makes it in his basement

Well, as I said - it was in the Bar Street in Beijing. Even had he had ten vodka/RedBulls stacked on his head, he would still be the least stupid-looking person there.

But yeah, he really liked the taste. Had nothing to do with associating it with having a good time, he just liked the way it tasted. Couldn't stand vodka/Coke, though, even though he loved Coke on it's own.

and the only thing "dangerous" about it is the potential hazzard it poses to one's stomach lining. i know more than enough people who've been drinking this stuff for years now, and none of them have even come close to being hospitalized or anything like that.

oh, and as far as the price goes, a vodka red bull usually runs around 5 €. the same as for a havanna (cuba libre) etc. in most places here.

Redbull also contains Guarana, which gives a better "high" than either caffein or taurine. I recommend drinking normal stuff and just supply it with strong Guarana (2000mg) and Ginseng-tablets to have a great night out. It won't give you the acid reflux of vodka redbull nor the caffeine-shivers.

...funny; that's my thought when drinking Vodka and Bull!
I like the taste and don't have to choke it down.

Where'd you get the idea that there's an Í in that word?

The logo is written in Gothic lettering, in which an s before a t looks like an f without the vertical stroke. So it's still Jägermeister, not JägermeiÍter - if you want to get pedantic (which I usually do)

Any person who can drink a GLASS of tequila (typically 70 proof) and not vomit has a stomach made out of steel.

If you want to get really fancy you have to use a word with a scharfes S (estzet) in it. Jägermeister schmeck wie Scheiße!
