What has this do with America? This never happens in other countries?

Surely Canada has stupid people... I see posts by them in here all the time.

-

"I want my western burger done right! or I'm calling the police."

-

What is really stupid is how the 911 operater kept talking to the idiot. Remember the caller is from San Clemente. California. That isn't a part of the USA, it is the land of fruits and nuts.

-

911 operator: "Is it a dangerous cheeseburger?"

-
haha.

Imagine being married to that fcuking idiot. Does she call 911 when her husband doesn't screw right?

Imagine that 911 call.

-

911 operator: "Mam is that a dangerous c_ck there?, he isn't threatening you with it is he?"
idiot caller: "No, he just isn't doing it right, I want to be f-ed right, now send an officer to make him..."

+100,000!

Kay in "Men in Black"
A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it.
Sometimes a person begins to feel like "people" and gets incredibly stupid. This is a case in point. She's in her car, and feels that the rest of the world is either nonexistent, or designed to serve her. She is, of course, wrong. This sort of mentality is exceptionally pervasive here in San Antonio, Texas; you see people blitzing down the freeway at 60-80mph without ANY knowledge or awareness that they are surrounded by other people traveling at similarly alarming speeds, and that their actions may have repercussions on others. In other words, they are in their own little micro-universes-and they seem to like it that way!!!

As for the idiot on the 911 tape, GO INTO THE $^#%ING RESTAURANT AND GET WHAT YOU ASKED FOR!!!! GET OFF YOUR FAT A$$ AND DO SOMETHING BESIDES WHINING!!!! YOU ARE SETTING A MISERABLE EXAMPLE FOR YOUR CHILDREN!!! YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE PROCREATED!!!

In most jurisdictions it's illegal to use 911 for a non-emergency, and people who do so are subject to stiff fines. It's kind of like the "Stupid Driver Law" in Arizona-you do something stupid like going around baracades and get washed away by a flooded creek, it's your own stupid fault and you'll be fined. Gee I wish we had that here in Texas.

Americans do seem to be retarded where food is involved, that's for sure. I'm sure she didn't weigh 400 pounds.

And as an American who resides abroad and indeed seen much of the world, there is a certain brand of culturally void idiocy that we seem to be best at.

I think they should've sent a police officer to arrest her for her abuse of the 911 emergy system.

Yes, we aren't pretentiously snobby. Well at least most of us aren't.

The people I see in this thread, that need to learn some "cultural tact" aren't Americans.

I came from Michigan, which is pretty much fixed as part of the United States. My family came from Georgia-the one north of Florida-and Minnesota (I think). WAAAYYY back, we came from Wales, Ireland, England, and probably Scotland.

The point is that this moron in the car came from some town in California, and she didn't have the brains to understand that not getting it "her way" was NOT an excuse to abuse the 911 system. This is simple, individual stupidity, nothing else.

As for something being "American" or not, consider the drive through window. It is singularly wasteful of resources and manpower (that poor individual working the window is sadly misused and often abused). Most people I've seen will run their car while waiting, no matter what the temperature, weather conditions, or cost of fuel, which makes the act of using a drive through anything overall wasteful. This level of wastefulness is, in my opinion, a very American thing, whether or not it's done anywhere else.

Americans visit other parts of the world all the time. Sometimes the visitors are well prepared for an experience that is specifically NOT like "back home." Unfortunately, being able to afford a trip somewhere out of the U.S. does not necessarily indicate that the traveler is smart enough to make use of the visit. These individuals are called "tourists."

Tourists also come to the U.S. from other countries. Right now we are in the midst of a traditional pilgrimage from Mexico to San Antonio, Texas to shop. It happens every year just before Easter. These tourists come in expensive cars, park poorly, foul traffic, and somehow manage to bring the term "fast food" to an unearthly plane (I've had Burger King in Panama, and it's not that way there, even if your Spanish is as poor as mine was). It strikes me that what people are talking about on this thread when they shake their heads and say "Americans!" is actually "Tourists!" Tourists are a pain, while "visitors" are simply visitors, who do not exhibit bad behavior.

I've been to other countries too much to let "that's so American" comments go without the above observations.

And I hope "I'm not getting it my way!" gets a nice big fine!

I'd say that America doesn't have an old culture like Asia, Europe, Latin America or Africa. It is more like a new culture spawned by capitalism and the clash of inmigrants' cultures.

Well I could almost agree with that.

America's culture was born from the old cultures of many countries, which goes to further my statement about the mirror.

In a way, I agree that America has 'all the cultures of the world'. But I also agree that America doesn't have the old cultural history that Europe, Asia, and Africa do.

When people from these places went to America, they did bring along their own cultures, but the thing is, you can't 'bring along' an entire culture. They brought along small snippets of their culture, not the whole thing; so what America has now (along with many other countries where immigration from all over the world has been a phenomenon on the rise in the last century or so) is one predominant culture (in America's case, the somewhat 'vague' culture of the white middle class [yes, I know, huge generalisation, but you know what I'm talking about], which ultimately grew from the culture of the original settlers, I guess), and a plethora of 'excerpts' of smaller cultures that all live in their own little niches within society, but are also inevitably mixed with the one predominant culture.

Big and isolated? American doesn't know jack about the largest country in the world that they are right next to. Also they are hardly the largest population in the world. They also have the largest communications network and internet usage so they should have no problem learning anything about what is going on outside their little world.

OMG! I could not have said this any better myself.

You wanna talk about stupid Tourists? I live and work in downtown Washington, DC.
We are entering Cherry Blossom season which begins the annual Tourist season here in DC.
This town is full of nice Visitors and DUMB Tourists (from all over this country and the world) from now until Labor Day. Uggh!
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.
