Kim Bauer works at CTU?!?
OK, I'm only part way through season 2, so I'm not gonna watch any more of it.

I like 24 (although I think it has gone downhilll quite a bit as it has gone on), but the game does not look that great (from the 5 seconds of gameplay footage in that video). I look forward to an actual trailer, and I'll be interested to see what they show at E3. However, being PS2 only will only limit the market (and the quality of the game). Unfortunate it will not be available for Xbox or Gamecube.

Only if I get to torture all the characters with the lamp cable from Paul's hotel room (current season) and get Jack Bauer to finally commit suicide at the end of the game ... then again - if it (mostly) sticks to stuff from seasons 1 + 2, it might actually be bearable or even good - otherwise: "I'm running a new protocol here, so kiss my socket, will ya?"

If you haven't seen the second series, brace yourself for Deja Vu.
How many times can one person get kidnapped in a 24 hour period? If your name's Kim Bauer, LOTS!
I stopped watching because of her.

Kim's mother won in the first season, just because she died

What show were you watching? Terri shooting Eli twice -- "they were expecting two shots" -- was probably the smartest thing anyone did the whole season.
I'm still enjoying the show. It will probably never recapture the magic of the first season (watching everything unfold from week to week was magical), but there have been a lot of excellent moments in each season. Say what you want about it, but they manage to make the show suspenseful and powerful on a regular basis.
The game looks interesting. I'm excited about the concept, but I need to see more before I get really excited.

The biggest problem is that the writers do not plan. They have a couple ideas of what they want to have in a season, but everything else is just made up as they go. They almost seem to brag about their lack of preparation from the interviews I've read. Apparently the first 6 episodes of S1 were the farthest they have ever planned a season. That's why we get crap like Kim wandering around for 10 minutes a show, and a lot of unrelated events we don't need to know about or care for. "The city of LA will be blown up in 30 minutes unless Jack can stop the terrorists. But between now and then, here is how a family of cougars handle the situation." It really does cripple the show.
I'm also tired of a lot of the clichés. Valuable suspects being shot by mystery snipers right as they are captured. Valuable cast members being saved by allies who arrive in a situation right as a villain is going to pull a trigger. CTU employees fighting amongst themselves and other pointless bickering. The "lets just try to make it through this day" line. In s2 and s3, s3 especially, making old villains come back and have a hand in the latest plot to destroy the world. The threat or cliffhanger of having Jack be killed (it will only work one time, at the very end of a season that could be the end of the series). And a few other things.
It's still a good show. The latter seasons have done some cool things. But S1 really set the bar high, and the Kim stuff is relatively tolerable compared to some of the other things they have been doing.

If they have to die to win, I'll settle for a draw.

That's not quite right. When the show first started, they weren't sure it was going to be picked up for the whole season. Jack rescuing Kim and Terri was the happy ending if Fox didn't want the rest. They had to do a little scrambling after that, but I'd say they did an admirable job.

Each season has its drawbacks (Terry's amnesia in S1, the cougar in S2, etc.). However, I think the "unrelated events" are part of the show's charm for two reasons: (1) we don't usually know they're unrelated until much later, so it adds to the mystery (like a red herring) and (2) the show is about a full day's worth of activity on multiple fronts, so it adds to the realism when everything isn't directly related to the main plot.
You have some points. During S1, I wondered how the next season would go. My idea was to scrap the whole cast and do another day with all-new characters. I'm glad they didn't, but that decision allowed some of the characters to become fan favorites. I hardly doubt Kim, Nina, and Sherry would've kept appearing if they weren't so popular. I've always found Kim's stupidity both endearing and amusing. I really enjoyed seeing the other two pop up at unexpected times (along with the resolution of their lingering issues).
I don't think 24 is the best-written show ever, but there have been so many outstanding moments (Jack vs. Drazen, Jack at the end of S1, Jack talking to Kim in the plane, Mason doing you-know-what, Jack and Chappelle, Jack at the end of S3, etc.) that I tend to overlook (or tolerate) the flaws.

I'm always in awe that nobody ever eats anything. Only once this season have I seen someone take a sip of water.
I guess that's why nobody pisses or dumps during the day. Nothing in, nothing out.

S1 was an exception to the planning, and a reasonable one since they were not sure if they would be cancelled or not. But ironically, this article reveals that S1 was planned more than any other season and that the writers are now just making it up as they go. In cases where they knew they had a full season to work with (in the case of S2 - S4), some things seem a lot more random and developed for "shock value" rather than for progressing the plot in a natural or convincing way. There are only so many times you can be shocked before you start to catch on and approach a situation with an opposite mindset to anticipate a shock. I think Steven Spielberg noted this in a commentary about Jaws.

I think it's implied that all of that stuff happens on the commercial breaks. Or when a mole wants to contact their employer

Port this bitch to xbox please.
The graphics look OK. I just haven't really found a good TV show -> video game conversion (unless you count wrestling games. I loves me some wrasslin' games).
