Haha! I stayed in Pagosa Springs and snowboarded up at Wolf Creek. It was absolutely amazing conditions. I also visited Durango for a day and Mesa Verde on another day.

While the clothes are certainly reminiscent of what your average meathead high-school freshman would wear when he wants to look like a meathead frat-boy, the very existence of the chain is one of the greatest crimes against retail in american history. For those not familiar with it's history, Abacrombie and Fitch used to be this totally off the wall store that was like the Sharper Image for the english country gentleman. They sold wacky clothes that only the inbred aristocracy could love (lots of loud flannel plaid pants), high-end fishing gear and turn-of-the-century gadgets, like a walking stick with a flask in it. They had cool chess sets and tea sets. Hip waders and smoking jackets. Why the hell it was bought and turned into the non-sense it is is beyond me. Did they buy it for the name? No one that knew it and loved it would ever shop there now, so that couldn't possibly be it.
It's just a crying shame. Worse than what was done to Banana Republic, only because Banana Republic was a bit silly from the start. Abacrombie and Fitch was pure, honest kitsch.
Sorry to derail, but it's one of my pet peeves.
