In before lock. One, this the lounge. Second, other Tiger and Mac mini and even Tiger + Mac mini threads going on.
Figure this one will start to degrade soon and eventually fall apart, only for the detritus to be swept up a mod as we move merrily along.

This isnt any reason to lock this. I think you have to much time on your hands to be just posting Inbl posts

Why not buy one now, and have Tiger turn up on the 29th for $10?

I spent €200 on panther and iLife, only to find that my 600mhz G3 iBook couldn't cut it with Garageband.

Then the Minimac comes out for €500

In this thread, yes. But how would Macmall know? And who/what the hell is Macmall? What makes them an authority?

I'm not buying it either. None of the new features are worth $130 bucks to me.

If you think about it, when you buy a Mac mini, you are also paying for the operating system. So yes, you ARE buying Tiger.

Would that be Interrnet2?

For my next Mac I want it to be a G5.

Well my point is this...
Mac Mini = $629 plus GST/PST for a total of $717.06
and it comes with or soon will come with:
Tiger
iLife 05
AppleWorks
Quicken

For me to buy the software for my current mac I would be paying:
Tiger: $149.00
AppleWorks: $119.00
iLife 05: $99.00

Total: $418.38 with the taxes and thats not including Quicken either. So the Mac Mini is really only costing me $299.00

If you have a older Mac you might as well just buy a new Mini if you plan on getting all that software.

Since this thread is more or less +1 fodder now, I'll just go ahead and post this nice poster image I saw on MacDailyNews today. I'd like this poster, at about 1.5 meters tall, for my office.

Ya actually your right, I rather have the full DVD of tiger. Either way still better to just get the Mac Mini now.

I still would rather get it in the retail box. Then the applications are in their place and the OS is in another. I realize you still get the OS with the new computer if you wait, but it's all bundled together in the CDs.

My 2¢

I agree. I hate digging around in packages trying to find just one program. I wish they'd put individual installers for the bundled software. I had an update screw up World Book on the kid's iMac a while back, and I had hell finding and re-installing just that app.

This is actually the perfect time to do it-- get a Mini with 10.3 softwarer restore disks, AND a retail version of 10.4.

If you wait until after 10.4 is shipping installed on machines, you're stuck with the 10.4 restore disk.
