When my family got its PowerPC 7100, it came with a multimedia CD containing examples of the computer's capabilities. Most of these revolved around audio and media clips, and one of them was a very brief black and white soap commercial from what appeared to be the 1950's. It depicted a woman running a piece of laundry through a hand-crank washer saying, "Suds? Why I want lots of suds! Every woman does!" I've been trying to find this clip anywhere and everywhere, and have come up completely blank.

So I turn to you, the faithful Mac community. Do any of you have this relic sitting around?
It's the devil's way now.

Aaaah, praise to you. How'd you know that?

After a bit of editing, I can finally listen to the following:

Suds? Why I want lots of suds! Every woman does! Sdus namow yreve! Sdus fo stol tnaw i yhw. Sdus! (Yes, I can say it backwards perfectly. That's what practice does!)

My childhood... revisited!
It's the devil's way now.

Someone find me a video that was on a CD that came with a QuickTime (QT3 I believe) book I bought in the mid '90s. The video had a couple of the QT programmers in search of the QuickTime data pipe and it involved Clarus the Dogcow, a mysterious rendezvous in a parking garage, and a talking banana.

I think the quote to which you are referring comes from the ROMs of older Macs. Those messages were designed, it was claimed, in order to make it easier to prove allegations of code theft in the event that the Mac's ROMs were cloned.

Maybe it was, but we're talking about Apple videos.
