I just got the following JavaScript dialog box that I have to assume came from the Forums:

I was browsing a thread in the Gaming forum, and when I went back to the forum index I got the message. The page only loaded completely after I dismissed the dialog. VB 3 bias? MacNN practical joke? Other cause?

Most of the ads (if not all of them) aren't hosted on kermit, but on commercial ad server companies. If you see a crappy ad, post it in Feedback and we'll have it removed from circulation (we aren't given the opportunity to preview ads before they are put into circulation, but we can remove them after the fact).
