Ever go to a university and look around? The students emulate "gangsta" rap, speak ebonics slang, take courses in marxism and major in Asian Studies, Women's studies, etc. What a joke. Do Americans go to Asia and study American studies? Where are the Men's studies if were going to be politically correct? Public universities are even worse. Your tax dollars are being used to support this utter crap. American tax dollars being used to fund courses in communism. Unthinkable.

Are you serious? Perhaps I'm taking the flame bait.

First what's wrong with studying communism. Second, what's wrong with Asian Studies (since Asia, and especially China are on their way to becoming a major economic and political force.. more so than they are now). Finally, what's wrong with Women's Studies?

What do you think the students should be studying?

Erm, I'm majoring in Asian Studies...

You do realise that majoring in Asian Studies (or Women's Studies, etc.) is not taking courses in neither Marxism, Communism, Socialism, or any other kind of political ideology, right?

You can take courses in Marxism or Communism, of course, should you so desire, but why would you? You can learn just as much about it by reading a book about it.

What would you rather have people major in? Economics, maths, chemistry, all the 'tangible' subjects? Or is it just that you for some reason still see Communism as The Great Enemy of the United States, and majoring in, for instance, American History would be perfectly acceptable?

(Sorry for the negative post, I'm bored and apparently that brings out the arguer in me. Oh yeah, and IBMTPL*)

From many students that I've heard from, it gives me hope for the future of our country. The problem at universities private and public is the professors.

Your (I should rather say our) economy does depend on all these things, so why not study them?

PS Condi Rice is also an expert on `Communism', do you think you are wasting your tax dollars on her?

Anyone who thinks that gangsta slang and skate courses are what college is all about today has not been on any campus I've ever been on-and I'm matriculating to my EIGHTH school this summer. If you get your information about college students from MTV, then consider the source-they don't even play music on MUSIC TELEVISION! Just how retarded is that?
