Okay, before i get locked for posting spam this isn't.

I am just curious how these work, i am considering in participating in one of these offers but want to assure of a few things first, particularly from those sucessful in one of these free offers.

The main reason for me wanting to participate in this is that i am 17 and i cannt get a job anywhere... i thought maybe i'll be able to make some money of this stuff (selling on ebay) and other things are things i have been saving up for (mac mini)

So are these free ipod things legit? do they work? are they REALLY free?

and if anyone could message me with advise as to how to get referals without spaming, or any other methods as to how to be sucessful in these offers.

thank you,

v12

************** is legit. but it is also a pain in the butt to get your free ipod. you need to sign up for 1 or more offers from a list that they give you (the list is different at different times of the day), and then you need to get 5 other people to do the same. i almost had it, but i should have read the fine print... i signed up under someone, then I had my wife, my brother, my mom, and my best friend sign up under me (4 total under me). We all signed up for legit services; i signed up with a family history site, my wife bought some ink for our printer, my mom bought some skin medicine, etc... BUT before i signed on the fifth and last person under me (which had already committed to signing up) i read all the fine print and found out that I had voided myself from recieving a free iPod because my wife had signed up under me. Turns out that if two or more people sign up from the same physical address you are disqualified. Period. No exceptions. They don't give you notice of the disqualification until after you have signed up all five people and then instead of sending you an iPod, they will send you a note saying you broke the rules and can't have an iPod. It made me pretty friggin mad.

I had the same bright idea as you did about getting multiples of them, but i think you can only get one. You can only sign up once with the same mailing address, and you can only get one ipod per sign-up.

So, if you're going to do it, don't get roomates or same-address relatives to sign up under you. Also, it's pretty hard to get people to sign up at all... no one believes that it will work and they will probably think it's not worth it to them to help you out.

edit: oh brother, macnn wont let you put the url to that site in your posts (see the little *s? that used to be the site address). give me a break. they'll let you put 99% naked women in your posts and let you link to crap news sites but wont let you put in a legitimate busines address in your post.

just make sure to never use your real emails. find some of those web-sites that let you register multiple new email names use them for this alone and then trash them. i forget the site i used but there was basically no password to the email just logged in verified, andd then the email was trashed and you went on to a new one.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Seeing as my iPod was stolen from right in front of me this weekend (I'll vent the story later) I'm going to have to resort to the free ipods thing in order to get a new one. Shouldn't be hard to get family or coworkers that were also there when it happened and have sympathy to help me out.

OK, I literally just received my free iPod in the mail last Thursday. Yes, it is legit. Yes, it is a pain in the ass. It took me three months. A big problem I had was that one of my friends used my computer to sign up for her offer; they saw the same IP logged and tried to disqualify me. A few customer service inquiries later and I was good to go.
How to get refferals: get your friends to sign up for things that you volunteer to pay. For example, I gave my buddy $15 to sign up for blockbuster for a month. He got free rentals and he came out $5 ahead. Yes it cost money, but much less than $300! The only strange thing is that they don't offer the same deals to everyone, so I couldn't pay for more people to do the blockbuster thing (the reason I suggest blockbuster is because it takes virtually no time to be "offer completed" status. Some of the others took 3 weeks!)

Good luck!
