Brian says (9:16 AM): I was looking at houses in Ottawa... I actually have a temptation in me to move
Jeff ******* says (9:19 AM): Eww, Ottawa is gross. It's infested with politicians, and presently, 1 Harper as well.

Is it a herd of animals in a garden? Or did you mean heard? In that case, no, never heard of it.

I live in Tacoma, WA and I've heard of it and been there, but hadn't heard of it while I lived in California.
Here's a couple of pics I took two years ago if anyone is interested:

Trying to get across to my friend who is from Victoria that the city isnt the greatest place on earth nor is it the tourist capital of the world. Hes kinda in his own box on local propaganda just like I was years ago thinking CAnada was the best place on earth and so forth. I am surprised that so many voted yes, but not as surprised since most of you are in BC or Washington, was hoping more ppl from back east and over seas would have voted though.

I do indeed know what the Butchart Gardens are and I've got a rather humerous story related to it. However, the story is lengthy and I am feeling just passive enough to pass on typing it out for now. Hopefully one these days.

Never heard of it, but I've not yet been to Canada.
Maybe next year to visit a friend in Zurich, ON, or
another in Kelowna, BC.
To be honest, I really don't know much aboot Canada
at all, eh. Love Bob and Doug, and Kids In The Hall.
My Canadians friends are hysterical as well - even tho they
try to be rather prim and proper. And both are quite good
painters who travel Worldwide.
I get a kick out of the Canadian tourists who I wait on at work;
they usually have somewhat of an accent, but try their best
not to sound Canadian.

P~

I've heard of the Gardens. But that's only because I visited relatives in Vancouver, BC, a few years ago, and they took me on a packaged day tour of VIctoria. Other notable destinations: The capitol building, the wax museum, and Mile 0. Victoria certainly is pretty, but it's not the greatest place on Earth, or even what I'd call a great tourist destination.
(This is coming from a person who has lived most of his life in Hawaii, New York, and San Francisco.)

i have lived in victoria for almost 15 years now (i am originally from toronto...). yeah, it is not the "best place on earth" by any means but it certainly suits my lifestyle. climate is nice and moderate, city is not too small so that it is really boring and not too big that it feels congested. now that our new arena has opened we've gotten back on the concert schedules (nobody would play in that old barn as it was awful sounding) - in the last few weeks we've had rod stewart, cher etc come through (neither of whom i care for but it is great for the city nto have these tours come through. tourism is a huge industry here...but it is not the kind of place if you want to be on the go all day...it is a great place to come and relax. we get a lot of people that do the "triangle" of seattle-victoria-vancouver - spending a few days here on the island. eco-tourism is very popular, whale watching, hiking in the rainforests on the island.

I lived there for 5 years, i hated it. Nice to visit but it sucked to live there. Just to small, nothing to do. Kids are to violent there prob from being bored. But it was the fact being stuck on a Island and having limited selection to things that was the worst part. I like having 9 futureshops to select from over just 2 and so forth.
