OK, for the record, I'm basically ambivalent about the modern practice of having a union legally sanctioned.

That said, my s/o didn't share my view on marriage, so over the weekend, we got married.

Yep, my carefree *cough, cough* bachelor days are over (though they really ended when she and I moved in together last year).

It was a nice ceremony, justice of the peace-type. We took a long holiday a few weeks ago so we didn't go out of town this weekend (just over to a nearby island hotel for some spa-type stuff). We'll probably take a few more days off in May and go somewhere.

Having to get used to the ring but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Overall, I'd give it a

[sappy] And, I am a pretty lucky guy. [/sappy]

So a big slice of virtual cake for all y'all.

Welcome to the club - it's nowhere near as bad as everyone's saying. Actually, I enjoy it (and the wife isn't even peeking over my shoulders while I type this - and no, she doesn't check the forum, either - she thinks we're a bunch of dorks).

Thanks. Yes, I try and make sure the tabs for lounge stuff are closed and I'm reading some of the technical threads here when she pops by now and then.

Thank you, that brought a big smile to my face. Mine was banana with banana flavored icing. Since that is my favorite flavor and it's my birthday, I deserve banana.
