From the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

A unique vision of the future.

Cue pretty people.

Token black actor.

Token asian hottie.

They all die one by one.

Until pretty white boy and girl survive.

And it all ends with a kiss.

I can't express how much I hated the show so I don't think I'll bother with this.
-"I don't believe in God. "
"That doesn't matter. He believes in you."

-"I'm not agnostic. Just nonpartisan. Theological Switzerland, that's me."

Firefly the series rocked. Smart writing, great characterization, and an authentic chemistry among the actors.

Fantastic. Heard about this long ago. Its too bad Fox fumbled Firefly by forcing it to be shown out of order, many people had no idea what was going on. Great characters and universe.

The trailer did indeed rock. Gave a little bit too much away, but I guess that's for all the non-browncoats out there.

They should have left out that it was done by the makers of Buffy and Angel. Maybe then I might be tempted to see it.

most people who talk smack about the buffyverse never watched enough shows to even know what was going on, or how complex it all was. great tv.

Whedon also did a great job on the X-Men comics, BTW.

That's true. It's a most insightful show about the dual nature of man that takes the viewer on a spiritual journey towards self discovery.

Word up, RonnieoftheRose. What the hell was with all of this meaning and characterization? Did you know that Sarah Michelle Gellar did not once take her shirt off during the entire run of that show? Instead, they wasted their time on this "plot" and "intelligent commentary on society." Pshaw. What kind of fag wants to watch that instead of Wrestlemania?

Although, Cordelia did take off her top, but not on Buffy or Angel. She did a Playboy photoshoot.

Actually, when she was gettin' it on with Spike toward the end of the series, she had her shirt off several times.

Just sayin'

Ummm... think so. What I've seen of it really is good. Shocking, what with it being the Yechs-Men and all.

I hope it's just a result of sexing up the trailer, but I noticed that the space sequences had sound effects. The fact that the space scenes were silent was one of the details I liked about the series.

Other than that, it looks nice! Looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, they decided to do TWO screenings right next door to each other in Northern California (Sacramento and San Francisco), but none down here — which is strange, given how this is much closer to LA and all. Man.

I didn't see an ugly Asian chick either. Or any Asian chicks, actually. Y'all sure you watched the right trailer?

No, just ignore him -- there's no "ugly Asian chick" in the show (not in the main cast, at least).

Not in the show, but there is an Asian girl in the FireFly Movie trailer. And she is NOT ugly IMO.

I'll have to watch it again, then. I assumed he was referring to Summer Glau aka River Tam:

ya know, I've watched this show backwards and forwards, and never once thought of Summer/River as asian. Whatdya know?!?! I think she's pretty, FWIW.

Anyway, this is the trailer for the masses, as the H2G2 trailer put it, with lots of explosions. What I've heard of the story isn't at all like 5th element.

I'll let you know next week.

Shiny. Can you at least say if the movie is more like the trailer or more like the show?

Yes. There are lots of show-like moments, but compressed. It wasn't as wham-bam as the trailer suggested, and the action was in character, but on a movie scale. (things they could do in a movie, but couldn't on TV.

Lots of laughing and gasping in shock.

it wasn't a final cut, it was a test screening. Looked mostly finished to me, a few audio/video effects to clean up, but otherwise finished.

click on my sig, you'll find a link to the main board, they put tickets on sale to the faithful.
