http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000683041511/

4 GB hard drive, MP3, M4A, AAC, WMA support, USB 2.0, 3G, WiFi (!!!) and Bluetooth. Plus dedicated music controller on the front and it looks like it runs Symbian Series 60.

OK it's a little homely, but those are some awesome specs. I have to say I am really surprised seeing such an awesome device coming out of Nokia.

That is one sweet phone there. Beautiful...

The only thing that I don't like is that its also a MP3 player. I want to keep my mashed potatoes away from my steak, if you know what I mean.

It's ugly as hell but the specs are nice.

Wonder how chunky it will be in real like though and have the notoriously bad Nokia battery life of 90 min talk,

Indeed, Nokia easily makes the ugliest and most overpriced phones out there. And everybody has them so that sucks as well.

The talk time is 3-4 hours. Not great because you know even after 1 day of standby/music wifi whatever you will be lucky to get 2 hours talk out of it. If you are not with a charger every day you are screwed.

/shrug

I have a Nokia 6620 and I love it. Bluetooth, great battery life (7am-11pm with Bluetooth on for 9 of those hours), camera, etc. Yes, their OTHER phones are garbage, but I find them much better than, say, Sony Ericssons.

That phone above looks fugly.

SWG, you talk on your phone for 2 hours a day? I thought you were on here all the time?

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

Apple should be paying very close attention. This is evidence that convergence devices are coming together, and soon.

Why do you think they have been working on the Motorola iPhone for over a year.

The iPhone has horrible storage capabilities (miniSD) and seems more and more like vaporware. It seems like such a half-hearted effort on Apple's part.

Not really, I don't want a 4 gig phone, I would be more than happy with a 1 gig stick to replace my shuffle.

Nifty idea. If they can manage to make the software to sync it not suck -unlikely, given their track record in this area- then they'll have a contender on their hands.

This said, aside from the sync software, this one looks like it's going to be a pain to work with, as an MP3 player and as a phone. Don't get me wrong, I love my Nokia phone, but they really should stick to what they do best.

you could've said this about Apple when they released the iPod. I agree with a previous poster convergence is coming..someone eventually will get it right. Apple better watch thier backs they shoulda been all over this.

In fact Nokia is working with MS on this....I'd bet they talked with Apple but the two parties couldn't get it done. Who knows what'll happen but if ever there was an iPod killer..this would be it.

The one advantage they'll have is the scroll wheel....nothing out there beats that..But if they miss the boat (as we've seen) its all over. I say fcuk Moto Apple oughta build they're own phone.

I can't wait for a few years down the road when these devices have matured and battery life has increased. There's no reason a phone wouldn't be able to sufficiently replace a shuffle at the very least. Apple should definitely be looking to work with as many manufacturers as possible. I'd love to be able to take a device out of my pocket.
