Wow. When even Paul Thurrott isn't impressed with a Microsoft product, you know something's wrong with it.

Well, this has convinced me that he exists as a person, as opposed to being a nom de plume for some secret division of Microsoft's marketing department. No marketing department would dare do something like this.

And it's more than a year out, so I don't quite get what the big deal is. A lot can happen in a year. You should have seen Tiger a year ago.

I agree that it is a way off but the Mac OSX Developer Preview 4 was in better shape than longhorn. Nothing about it looks new or exciting.

This one's bizarre, but we heard at lunch today that Apple is unhappy with the PowerPC production at IBM and will be switching to Intel-compatible chips this very year. Yeah, seriously.
