It seems there are more and more everyday. A quick google search only seemed to achieve one particular company's numbers (5 million active, 9 million total). Can anyone find an aggregate, or at least an estimation?

The big question is, how many relevant blogs are there?
|
|
-"I don't believe in God. "
"That doesn't matter. He believes in you."
-"I'm not agnostic. Just nonpartisan. Theological Switzerland, that's me."

Some people have more than one. Their lives are so interesting.
I tried keeping a blog once.
January 1st: Watched TV.
January 2nd: slept late then watched TV.
January 3rd: Couldn't sleep. Watched TV.
...
I gave up watching TV and now I have nothing to write about.

Those are probably the Technorati numbers, and I'd call them the most accurate out there.
I think it's funny that people in the Lounge of the MacNN forums are calling blogs "irrelevant."

There are too many blogs. Every few weeks, I'll discover that another dozen of my friends have started their own blogs, and I hate to say it but each one is the same:
"I am gay, and I am so confused".
"Here I shall write paragraph after paragraph in an over-analytical, brooding treatise on my boring life".
"I can't stop thinking about politics, here is an unintelligible diatribe on <today's political issue>".
I love my friends dearly, but the blogs have got to stop. There is a reason that diaries are traditionally kept secret.

mIllions, but many, are empty, and or dead.
Also, some don't blog cuz they want others to read it, just for a journal, that someone might happen to read.
Also, things that merly post news are called blogs too, and the term is spreading to be used to label any site that posts "news" or items regularly. Thats annoying.
