Coming home from work today, tried to send a text, system error, tried to save message, system error, tried to do anything, system errer. Grrrrr. Turned the thing off, turned on again - 'Telephone system error, contact retailer'. Screw that. I'm going to get a new phone now, probably tomorrow, and will probably go for a pay and go, maybe a cheap contract, but i text more than phone, and I want a phone to do stuff with. Not so much games (I basically bought the ngage as a game machine/phone), cos I have a DS now, but it would be good to have a camera again.

OK so basic things I would like are:

Camera
iSync friendliness
Bluetooth sync

Any suggestions? nothing too expensive, its pay and go, so a V3 is way out of the pricerange!

So I went out and bought a Moto V620 today. All ok so far, screen is nice, its small, and I have the bluetooth connection to my mac working, but not with iSync, so maybe that needs Tiger for iSync to recognise it?!?.

Rotating phones seem like they'd be incredibly clumsy to use one-handed. granted, i haven't played with one much, but i just can't imagine how you'd hold the screen upright while rotating the keypad behind it.

I've got the Samsung SGH P777 slider from cingular, a great little phone that's even more convenient than a flip phone or rotating phone, because the screen just slides up. has a 1.3mpixel camera that takes great (for a phone) 1280x1024 pictures, and it's got 100mb of storage and a video camera that can record up to an hour of video in one shot (assuming you've got nothing else in the phone's memory, of course). Alas, the only major drawbacks are no bluetooth and the sync software (with the included USB cable) is, at this point, PC-only. Hopefully at some point someone will write software to sync it with a mac, but until then i'm stuck using my PC to transfer pictures and videos from the phone.

I have a Sony Ericsson K700i, and I think it's great. Camera is 1 megapixel, I think; the pictures are quite good at 1280x1024, anyway. Video up to six hours or something on lowest settings, about 25 minutes on highest settings (40 MB space). Both Bluetooth and iSync'ing work like a charm, and I love the fact that I can use the phone as a remote control for my PB
