What is your total data storage space.

I just bought a 300 GByte Drive for my G5 and realized I'm not sure my total data storage space, but I suspect it is over 2 Terabyte.

I have an external 250 + 80 on my Powerbook. I have just over a Terabyte on my file server (3x 80 Gigs, 120, 2x 200, 250) and then a 40 in my Webserver. Plus I have a 10 Gig iPod and a 3 Gig Firewire drive. Oh and this handy 128 MB USB Pen drive.

Still never enough.

I just cracked a terabyte by about 40 gig a few months ago. Got another 250 on the way. (this is counting 7 machines, and 4 Firewire drives-- some at home and some at work)

Redundancy, redundancy, redundancy, redundancy, redundancy, redundancy, redu... did I say that already?

I think my sig lists all my hard drives except a 4gb drive pulled from my old beige G3. I keep 3 copies of most of my data by the way (laptop copy, desktop copy, external backup copy).

1 x 40GB (PB12)
1 x 120 GB (external FW 3.5")
1 x 80 GB (external FW 2.5")

Just a hair over 500GB that is currently available; not counting odds and ends drives that have been replaced here and there sitting in a box...

G4 = 60Gb + 120Gb, Assorted memory cards = About 2Gb, iPod = 40Gb. So about 222Gb

There are other PC's in the house, but they aren't mine, they are my Mum, Dad and brother's PC's.

jeez, I guess i went a little overboard. I just revised my backup scheme because I exceeded my old drives so I have room to grow on right now

MDD (main machine)
80GB internal applications, documents, etc
200 firewire photo/movie storage
250 firewire photo/movie backup
200 and 250 firewire: rotating backup for laptop and desktops
100 and 125 firewire: old backup drives. going to transfer itunes library to one
175 internal now what the heck did I get that one for? right now it's itunes backup

Dell...150 GB I think
old ibook: 12GB
B&W: 12 plus 125
powerbook: 80
ipod: 60GB (for travelling storage)

that puts me at about 1500GB

plus I have all the photos backed up to CD in a safe deposite box. off site storage.

as said earlier: redundancy, redundancy, redundancy, redundancy, redundancy, redundancy, redu...

Total = 250 GB

Thinking about getting a DVD burner to be able to back up some of the stuff on the external that doesn't have a backup. Or should I get another HD? Or both? Suggestions?

DP G5 Video Editing & Photoshop rig has over 2.5TB of disk space.

My PC has 200gb, which has been enough to store my music, videos etc., but not enough to do video or much photo work.

Pismo: 20 gig
Quicksilver: 250 + 120 + 60 = 430 gig
External F/W: 60 gig
Imac: 40 gig
Ipod: 20 gig

Total: 570 gig

I've been messing with a few home movies in imovie, and damn, that sure does eat the gigs. Need to get another 250 drive soon. They're cheap at least.

2 x 250gb internal + 250 gb external on my G5.
40 gb G3 iMac
30 gb G4 iBook
1 gb Shuffle

821 gb. I'd add up the craptastic PCs in my basement, but they are piled in a corner with boxes on top of 'em. It would require at least an hour work to dig 'em out, and it would probably annoy me to the point that I would be forced to visit hot screaming death upon their poor misbegotten beige boxes. And I just don't have that much energy tonight.

Lots of space spread out among computers I have access to. Maybe 2TB or so, but it's not like it matters. I use maybe 10GB for my data, and then back it up occassionally.
Plus I've got around 300GB lying on the floor in a corner of my room, where it has been for the last 5 months. I'll us it one of these days for something... (it used to be 1.1TB, but I sold off some of the pile)

I have no use for a lot of hard drive space.

280 KB on my Apple IIe. Yes that's - count 'em - TWO floppy drives.

BTW, one of the researchers where I work is scanning in microscope images of 6-inch diameter items, using a machine that automatically stitches everything together.

ONE composite image is HALF A TERABYTE.
