The shuffle was introduced less than six months ago and Apple is claiming that out of all "flash based digital media players" in our pockets, 58 percent are iPod shuffles (up from 43 percent in February). What's even more interesting is that Apple CFO, Peter Oppenheimer, said that Apple was supply constrained in March and that April numbers would be even more stunning.

if they are using an iPod and iTunes, apple has already gotten them to basically preview apple hardware and software.

I don't believe it. I would believe 58% of flash players bought this quarter but not such a huge percentage considering the number of flash players in use.

The title is correct, he is referring to the Shuffle, not the Mini.

Apple announced the market share of the shuffle during the last quarterly conference call.
