Shit, Dennis Hopper? Sweet. Oh, what is the song? It sounds familiar.

<--my reaction when I first saw it listed on Apple's movie trailer page.

<--my reaction after seeing the preview.

It's not even like he brought a fresh take on zombies. Looks like another movie using zombies as an excuse to blow-up a lot of sh|t.

Why would he need to come up with a fresh take on zombies, when he invented this kind of zombie? And there IS a fresh take; in THE FIRST zombie movie, George Romero's "Night of the Living Dead," the zombies were just created, and all they did was wander around, attacking people at random. These zombies may be communicating-a very different situation.

And besides, with the current sense of the movie going public, "blowing up a lot of sh|t" should be about as intellectually challenging as most of them can handle.

George has a good idea here, and he's gotten the production values up to where this will be a class-if creepy and gooey-production. And of course Dennis Hopper's casting is great! His character will no doubt be given some really choice lines!

I don't think invisibleX is intellectually stimulated by the new Zombie movie.

Most zombie movies are the same old same old anyways. However, 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead, both gave me chills. I'll likely go see this one too.

it's a followup to his original trilogy. so if you've seen Night, Dawn and Day, the whole "zombies communicating" thing will make sense.

i'm looking forward to it, but i've always been a fan of zombies (dressed as Shaun of the Dead for Halloween, been an extra in a zombie film, etc..).

It just totally randomly occured to me that there were times during Resident Evil 4 that I was like: this part would translate well on the big screen.

Y'know, Spanish speaking zombies...

Anyway, of course I will see this. Zombies' may be simple, and slow, and predictable, but there's a certain elegance to them. An understated evilness, if you will. And maybe they'll be a little different this time.

I thought the last decent Zombie film was 28 Days Later, actually.

Watched the trailer end of last week, and wondered "why?"

Night of the living dead scared the crap out of me as a kid. Saw Dawn of the Dead a few years after its release, and thought it was gross but funny. Saw Day of the dead when it was released on video, and just laughed my ass off. It was trying so hard to be so dramatic and scary that it became a parody of itself. Everything about it was just overdone to the point of absurdity. The overbearing music, the camera work, the dialog, the (lack) of acting, the gore. Just overdone and silly. The nasty military guy getting torn in two and screaming some final epitaph like "I hope you choke on 'em!" (IIRC) had me laughing so hard tears came to my eyes. It was absolutely sophomoric.

Am I gonna see Land of the Dead? Maybe on video or something. But if it follows the pattern of the trilogy, it is bound to be crap.
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
