In case some of you aren't familiar with it, these guys took organic fibers and coated them with embryonic stem cells. The stem cells then became nerves and bridged the break in the spinal column. The end result was a rat, who previously was paralyzed from the waist down, being able to walk again with over 80% maneuverability.
This is absolutely incredible. I remember reading about it a few years ago. Now the study's been disclosed and a roadmap is on the table for future human testing. I can't wait.
