There was a pic in the N.Y. Daily news of her and Nicole Richie and Nicole looks like total CRAP. They both look horribly emaciated. I didn't even recognise Nicole, she looked like an Olsen twin. What the hell is wrong with these women?????

I would really like to find out a lot about that second picture. When and where was it taken? By whom? What camera, lens, exposure, shutter speed, etc.? Why was it taken by someone 7 1/2 feet tall? (Look at the angle-it's from way over her head!) Why was all that light used? And how much did "The Weekly World News" pay to have Lindsay ambushed like that?

I'll bet that a GOOD picture of her taken seconds later would not have shown her to look at all skinny. Don't ever listen when somebody says "pictures don't lie." That's true, but it doesn't address the way photographers lie all the time.

Fame = anorexia...all that shutter speed stuff doesn't matter. You can tell when someone does not eat enough, even with a throw away camera. It really is a plague...someone famous will die...it's just a matter of time. Skinny is not hot.

Skinny is not all that, but when we are young and dumb.. it is easy to think so.

Good advice...I think the issue really transcends age though. Look at almost any female celebrity at any age...you could probably make a person out of the weight lost from the Desperate Housewives cast and they are all at least 40 except for Eva Langoria. I think it has to do with the pressure of being in the spotlight. I just hope the pendulum will swing the other way, because the Hollywood image has a tendency to ripple through American culture.

ghporter, though your argument would normally be valid, Lindsey is one of the most-trailed stars by the paparazzi right now, so there are literally HUDNREDS of photos every week that show her that skinny or worse. We're talkin red carpets, shopping, eating (like she ever does), clubbing, etc. That picture isn't even the worst of them. She and Nicole Ritchie together are both SICKLY skinny...just look at any of the celebrity-obsessed magazines, websites, or gossip rags. That's no photographic trickery up above.
