It was a long queue; I was number 73 of the day. I didn't actually spend time waiting though, cuz there are plenty of shops around that area so i just went shopping. After 2 hours i went back, it was about my turn.
I actually took western medicine for like a week already, but my coughing and sore throat didn't really go away, so i was like what da hell and my girlfriend took me to see this chinese doctor once and for all.
So i sat down, it's a female doctor and she's around 40 years old. She has probably been seeing patient at that clinic for over 10 years. I saw her license hanging on the wall and it was given to her when she's 29, from some chinese medical institute. Anyway she looked at me and immediately she asked "not sleeping well lately?" And i told her i actually sleep well, for at least 6 hours every night. She raised her eye brows, and she put her index and middle finger on my waist and examined my pulse. After 5 seconds or so she briefly looked at my girlfriend right next to me and then she asked me "been too hard working lately?" I knew she implied that I'd been having too much sex! lol~ So i was like "ar... yeah... kinda" and she gave me that evil smile. "Young man take it easy. You have problem with your nose, it gets stuffy and you can't breath in the morning? and your digestive system is weak, be careful not to eat too much exotic food..." She then took out her fountain pen and scripted a full page of chinese prescription that i couldn't possibly recgonize. "Doctor... I think i haven't told you my problem yet... maybe you need to add something extra into the prescription..." She gave me that funny look again and asked "What is it?" I told her about my sore throat and coughing and she said "They will be taken care of."
I got that medicine made at the doctor's place, it was like an in-house chinese pharmacy with all different kinda weird stuff, it took another hour. The medicine i got was like a soup only it tasted like major sh!t. All my problem went away next day when i woke up, and all she did was to feel my pulse through my wrist. Amazing. I think i should go find out if i could do exercise better now.

You probably would have gotten better on your own anyway, but be aware that some of those medicines have salicylates and stuff like pseudoephedrine in them. They'll make you feel better, but you could have just taken a couple of ibuprofen and anti-sinus-congestion pills, with some chicken soup, and felt just as good or better.
I love this black tar cold medicine that used to be popular in China. It says right on the package that you should take the tar, drink plenty of fluids, and rest for a week, and the cold will likely get better. Well, no sh!t.

I'm happy to hear that you are feeling better now Sealobo. Are you and your girlfriend getting along better also?
