Ok, so there are probably very few people in the U.S. that even know who Jarre is. Decided to listen to everything in his catalog today while cleaning. I realized that next year, his first album will be 30 years old. That's a damn long time. I've never seen him live, but my mom was in Paris for one of his shows a few years back. She said it was breathtaking. Anyone else appreciate his work?

Oh, I thought you meant Jared. Never mind.

PS. Do you mean Jean Michel Jarre?

I read Jared first too actually.

Jarre is OK. I haven't heard much of his new stuff, but his old stuff I found to be often a bit annoying. iTunes says I liked half of Oxygene, some of the Hong Kong album, and a couple others....notably Fishing Junks at Sunset (china concerts), the ambient Waiting for Cousteau (very long, very nice), Magnetic Fields 3, Soul Intrusion, Pleasure Principle, and First Rendezvous.

This insanity brought to you by:
The French CBC, driving antenna users mad since 1937.

Magnetic Fields is my fave of his records (of the ones I have heard anyway - I lost track of him a number of years ago) and the live one - china concerts i think it was called was also pretty good.

Has he done anything lately besides a greatest hits album?
