YOU ARE SO TALENTED!
The music is AWESOME!
Quicktime is perfect with these links - the feed is instant. Bubblewrap, you should put the other movie up here too (the one from the other thread.)
All I can say is that you should put these on a disk and sell them through BirdTalk magazine. They are REALLY great. As far as the music goes, if you used older music that has the copyright expired on it you wouldn't have any problems. Does anyone know the law with respect to music and royalties? I think that you're allowed to use it for free after a certain period of time.
THOSE ARE WONDERFUL MOVIES, BUBBLEWRAP!
(I especially like the fact that an argument about dog or cat or bird crap isn't going on in this thread.)

My niece made me a t-shirt that looked like Roxy had chewed it up and pooped all over it with green plastic puffy paint that read across the front "Why yes, as a matter of fact I do own a cockatoo. Why do you ask?"

Well, I'd guess that because BubbleWrap started this thread with something that he (or she) had a good idea that Cody Dog and other bird lovers would appreciate and you'd just be cussing someone out for your own benefit, I'd go with 'no'. But you're welcome to give it a shot and report back.

ROFL, actually!
turtle777: Do you like turtles? If so, post a pic here - I love turtles too.
I'm going to give my parrot her bath (with the spray bottle) in a few minutes and I wish I had the ability to put it to music like bubblewrap does.
Hmmmm...
I'll have to work on that.

Post more pics of YOUR bird too, please.
And doesn't JustAnOldBroad have a bird? Who else here has birds? What about the guy with the owls in his backyard?

Watch your language.
I had a bird a long time ago, it died, so we got a dog. He lasted much longer... tasted better too.

First one is house finches and the second is sparrows.
I have the little finches where they will come to the window so I will come out and feed them.

I used to have squirrels that came up to my front door and started licking the glass until I went out and fed them.
Weird beasties, squirrels.

Piper's nickname is "Mothra" since she's like a giant moth that attacks pristine t-shirts. It's funny to watch her reaction to a new shirt without any chew holes; she looks down at where the holes normally are and chirps curiously as if to say, " Hey, this shirt isn't mine...There aren't any chew holes. I'll fix that!"

Hey, birdbrain question: I use clay kitty litter in the bottom of my bird's cage (below the grate - the grate is about 10 inches above the bottom pan.) What do any of you use?

We use cheap paper towels -- my wife cleans his cage every day, so that was easiest and the cleanest in our opinions.

Yeah, that makes sense for a small cage.
But what about a huge cage?
Like this one? It's 40 inches across and 36 inches front to back. That's a lot of paper towels every day. And big parrots take big poos. So, I've been using kitty litter.

Yes, clumping cat litter -- some with VERY LOW DUST -- will be okay if you poop-scoop it every day. Tidy Cat has a clumping litter with bacterial "fighters" that works really well for our cat, Uno (who's been known to make a pee-rock the size of a softball).
Try and avoid using organic substrates as they can contribute to bacterial growth if they aren't properly conditioned -- but hey, cat litter works so just keep it up.

We got the Scoop Away "No Dust" litter at Costco tonight. (Am I the only one that LOVES Costco? I LOVE that place for everything.)
There was virtually no dust.

Ground-up corn cob in the big cage, paper towels in their travel cage.

You know, we tried the corn cob stuff, but because we're in Florida and the humidity is, like, 100% for about 100% of the time, it mildews and grows mold on it in like two days. Replacing it every two days is not only a little costly (when compared to kitty litter), but is also a pain.
Gosh, so many people here have birds - I'm amazed!
I think I'm going to name the bird "Poco" which means "little" in Italian. For an Amazon she's little. I think she's a "she" for some reason - we're very fortunate to be able to take her to Dr. Greg Harrison who lives here where we live and when I do I'll have him do the DNA test to find out the sex of the bird. I'm supposed to be going on vacation to Milan in a week, but instead I'm just sending my son over for the summer instead, but in honor of my missed vacation to Italy I am naming the bird Poco. We were supposed to go for 2 weeks to visit family and friends over there, but I really do not want to leave the bird now that she's here. We're going to try to go to Maine in August instead - unless hurricanes are on the way like they were last year (when our house and cars were decimated.)

I have two birds too!
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~resc0030/p_susie.jpg
http://www.tc.umn.edu/~resc0030/p_tubby.jpg
Susie (the yellow one) is very elegant and kind of prissy. She was raised by a man and thus only likes to hang out with men. Her pride is easily damaged. She's also a bit of a horn-dog... we keep trying to prevent her from making nests and laying eggs, but it happens every once in a while. Now we have to bring her in for hormone shots every few months.
Tubby is a lot more easygoing. She is very attached to my mother. She kind of waddles around and sometimes seems like the exact opposite of Susie. Not graceful at all. Oh, and if you pick her up, instead of screaming and biting and going nuts like Susie does, she just kind of accepts it. Not that we pick them up all the time but once in a while we have to. Susie always makes a fuss but Tubby doesn't really care. It's funny how distinctive their personalities are.

Awwww... those are cute 'tiels!
I love cockatiels. They are a big bird in a compact package. They're way cool.
My first bird was a parakeet named Petey. Petey loved me. He was blue and he sat on my shoulder all of the time while I did my homework (I was in elementary school.) He learned to say his name and a few other things. He would always try to regurgitate food as a gift to me.

LOL, our birds never do that. They're takers, not givers... well, sometimes. Susie will sometimes refuse to eat unless I partially chew up some food and hold it in my mouth for her. I guess the "giving" end of it is that sometimes she'll "preen" me (by pulling out my hair and picking my nose).

Poco does that. She grooms my eyebrows and eyelashes. She's amazingly sweet for a parrot that:
1. Does not know me or anyone else
2. Spent an entire year sitting on someone's back porch
3. Has not been handled very much.
I've met some Amazons that are really talented talkers...and mean also!
Okay, let's turn the topic a bit...everyone list some really great local bird stores that you know of - if you know some.
Down here in Florida there are some REALLY great ones. But my favorite one is this one:
Brenda's Birds in Delray Beach. AWESOME place and the owners (Bob & Brenda) are absolutely THE nicest people you could ever meet - ever. They also ship.

And Spanish! And almost Portuguese! That's like 3 languages in one! (I think the pronunciation might be the same on all 3, though, which makes it fit nicely for an "Amazon" bird. )

Ours preen us, too. It hurts, though, when Dottie plucks one of my leg hairs.
We got all of birds from the only good bird store in the area, Macon Pets. They love their birds and take great care of them. The owner even gave us Dottie because she had a club foot and knew we would give her a good home. Little did we know that the poor, little bird with the disfigured toes would have no problems getting around and become the alpha female of the flock.
Here's a question for the group: My wife and I are expecting our first child Monday. Does anyone have experiences with newborns/toddlers and birds? We hope to teach our son that birds are not playtoys, but are a little concerned. Any thoughts/suggestions?

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE BABY!
When I met my husband he had a cockatoo named Caspar. Caspar was really wonderful and was even potty-trained. I was taking care of a friend's Amazon by the name of Pepe. Pepe kind of became my bird by default because she never picked him up.
Well, we got married and we had our first baby and it turned into a huge trial for the family because the birds didn't really "like" the baby. The Amazon bit me badly one day while I was holding the baby - I needed 40 stitches in my lip and nose (two layers of stitches) and a follow-up with a plastic surgeon. The bird had to go to the original owner's brother the very next day.
The cockatoo was more forgiving and accepting, but not as friendly as we wanted him to be. He wasn't exactly mean, but with a beak like that and a baby's tender little fingers and toes, it's not a risk you can take.
So, we were birdless for a long time.
Now we have another baby and now we have this little Amazon by a fluke. The thing is, she's never lived anywhere except in a tiny little dirty cage and has never had any freedom.
So, although we have a 1-year old baby toddling around the house, the bird doesn't resent the baby because the baby was here when the bird came and also, the bird isn't losing it's freedom by being locked up in the cage - it's always been in a cage. (Although, the cage we bought the bird is an absolute mansion compared to the cage she came from - I still can't believe someone had a parrot or bird live in 18 inches by 18 inches by 20 inches high for a year.)
I can't say what you should do, to be honest. I'm just telling you about our personal experiences.
Congratulations on your new baby!
