I usually make a post of this kind, when i find something new and original in artists/bands. I know these guys arent new to the scene, and ive been listening to them for a good 9-10 years now and thus far they havent disappointed.
Genre ? i'd classify it under the clasic/pop rock & alternative genre. Great vocals and hypnotic guitars. If your a fan of the genre check em out, if you havent heard of em, check out iTunes (they just got a new exclusive out).
If you havent heard them yet.... i definately recommend "Bringing down the horse"...i really liked the album on the whole, especially the single 'One headlight'.

And oh yeah, the band's lead, Jacob Dylan, is Bob Dylans son. (but from what i hear there's some tension between them)

Enjoy!

Cheers.

I was surprised when I seen the new album popup on iTunes. I didnt hear anything about them being in the studio.

It will be worth a purchase for sure.
Who reads this???

I bought their "bringing down the horse" album and thought it was great. have been listening to that album for years. however, i started napstering their other albums and found them unremarkable...

just an hour ago i was cheking their itunes previews out and the first 4 tracks sounded great! great to see some others excited. i'll probably pick this up soon...

what i love about them is Jacob Dylan's voice. it's just so original. i like the feel they brings as well. it seemed the albums before this were very sad and slow but i'd have to buy them to confirm becuase NOBODY i know cares about them!

I heard about them a while back, figured there'd be good vocals as well as good writing. It wasn't bad music, but not my taste unfortunatly. I kept few of the songs copied to iTunes....I found the Breach album to be good, kept only "The Difference" from the horse album, top songs 6th Avenue Heartache (almost country music, but not quite) and I Started a Joke (scary, it's off the Zoolander soundtrack, I still thought it was good though).

I'm told that Jacob wanted to distance himself from his father's work, and tried to "blend into" a band that wouldn't be "The Bob Dylan's Son Band"...there is a similarity in their voices though.

This insanity brought to you by:
The French CBC, driving antenna users mad since 1937.

Hehe..yeah he does sound like Bob. But i think "trying to distance himself from his father's work", is putting it politely. From what ive heard/read...there's a lot of friction there. (Supposedly he sings about it in "Invisible City"...i reckon its got to do with his dad's relationships or something)

I bought an album by "The Wedding" recently on iTunes and I have to say... I have not been this addicted to an album in a long long time...
