Based on all the Star Wars movies...in your opinion...who is the most powerful jedi/sith...whatever they are called i'm not a hardcore star wars fan but this is my list.

1)Yodi
2)Vader
3)Sidious
4)Obi-Wan
5)Windu
6)Dooku

i guess luke should be in there somewhere - but i'm not really sure where.

whats your take on it?

Switch Yoda and Sidious. Yoda was beaten. He then ran and hid until he died of old age.

Yoda lived beyond his body dying. Sidious didn't.

Maybe he didn't run, but advanced in a different direction. Besides, without him, who would have trained Luke? It's close between S and Y but I gotta give it to the green guy (didn't you love when Sidious said: My little green friend?) since he appeared at the end of Jedi and Palpatine didn't.

1)Vader: Its made very clear he's the 500 pound gorilla of the force, sadly the epoch of his killing career is a few kids.

2)Yoda: He's clearly equal to Sidious. I figure its harder to hold an throw back force lightning than make it, so he's probably more powerful.

3)Qui Gon: Probably not that powerful but he figured out the whole ghost dealie, so what he loses in power he gains in innovation. Course the inability to survive as long as a retarded toad (you know who I'm talkin bout) down-played his character. Stupid lucas.

4)Luke: Who knows how powerful luke is. He never does anything to indicate he's all that. Its possible he's more powerful than Yoda but we know Vader was considerably more powerful.

5)I've got better things to do now, and the rest aren't worthy of mention.

Right now, I can't think of anything more unimportant. My guess is:

1) Vader (kills Sidious)
2) Luke (defeats Vader but is ugly and uncool)
3) Yoda
4) Sidious
5) Obi-Wan

EDIT: changed "kills" with "defeats" under 2)...

Guys remember, while luke is a whiney bitch, he did beat Vader.

But then again, Vader may have just been playing defense.

true, but Luke was beaten by Sidious, who was beaten by Vader.
I think Vader's defeat was his redemption.

I kind wonder if that story was a device concocted by Palpatine, or if that's really what did happen...

I could be wrong but that power "to cheat death" was never used by anyone .... I would bet on a scheme plotted by Sidious.

Sidious was betrayed by Vader, they really weren't fighting.

I also think Luke underestimated the Dark Side. He didn't know about the lightening bolts and crap like Vader did.

Had he, he probably wouldn't have tossed his saber like that

Remember, it was said if Anakin had any offspring, they would probably be just as strong as he was.

Luke was a younger full bodied (cept a hand) version of Darth basically.

Without all the dark angst.

That is why they had hope with Luke. They knew if anyone could take someone on as powerful as Vader had become it was Luke.

Indeed, without a saber. Yoda has had hundreds of years worth of knowledge too.

Notice Mace had to use his saber too.

I think yoda was also stronger than Vader and the Emperor at one time.

I believe Luke in ROTJ was probably as strong of a Jedi as Anakin was in ROTS before he turned to the dark side.

Don't forget that Darth Sidious told Vader (Anakin) about another Sith Lord (Darth someone "the Wise") who was able to control life, death and "mitichlorine levels".

Seems to me that trumps em all. Pretty damn powerful Jedi if u ask me.

He claims it's a joke.

Of course, having action figures and figurines of SW and ST characters in your living room is NOT nerdy at all.

Constantly.

And other extreme words.

In other words all my user names make fun of the movies.

Plus I also say Ep1 is the worst movie of all time.

I like the art direction in Star Wars and that's about it.

Luke, because he was able to resist the Emperor's attempts to turn him to the Dark Side. Trumps the Emperor and Vader.
Turns Vader back into Anakin. Trumps Anakin and Obi-Wan.
Beats Vader at lightsabers. Trumps Vader and Obi-Wan. Maybe he wasn't the most powerful user of the Force (that we saw at that time) but he was the one who was able to destroy the siths. And with only a short time of training and without any apprenticeship.

Yoda, for the reasons I mentioned above.

Sidious. He was the Sith Master, not apprentice as Vader. Trumps Vader.

Obi-Wan: Tells Vader: If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can ever imagine. Trumps Vader.

Vader/Anakin. Was he the Chosen One after all, or was Luke?

Qui-Jon: Discovered immortality.

Mace: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

Are you kidding? Vader killed three Sith Lords (Dooku, Palpatine and himself), whereas Luke killed how many? Oh yeah, zero. Well, unless he shot some Sith Womprats back on Tatooine.

Though I guess you could say Luke killed them with kindness by allowing Palpatine to blast his ass across the room and motivate Vader to actually get something done.

1. Yoda (Because he rox!)
2. Luke (Because he is the "chosen one"...meh...dunno)
3. Obi-Wan (Because he knows when to say "when")
3. Sidious (Only because he is such an evil biatch and was Maul's master...)
4. Maul (Actually he would be tied for 1 with Yoda because of the bomb a55 outfit...needs to see his dentist more often though and to tell his master to take a hike. He would have kicked Obi-Wan's and Qui-Jon's butts one-on-one)
5. Vader (He used to be Anakin...)
6. Mace (Loses to Anakin...)
