From TFA: It is not, despite some things you may have seen on the web, a critique of the current incarnation of Apple.

The subject discussed in that article has been reported by a variety of Mac-centric sources. From the late 80's until the second reign of Jobs, Apple did spectacularly fail to accomplish its true mission. The company lacked direction, talent was diffused in so many different directions, and everyone wanted control over their own fiefdoms. During that period real leadership could have produced great things. He does mention some interesting things - I had never before heard of Jaguar; I imagine that was the name of the Motorola RISC project.

I found it interesting too, I didn't like what happened if that really happens, but it was a trip reading about that stuff!

Apple lore is so much fun. Though a lot of factors contributed to Apple's problems. There usually is no one answer to anything.
