Ok, here's the deal.
I used to see RHPS every weekend (sometimes Firday and Sat. night) for several years between '84 and '88. I haven't seen it in a theater since 1988. I've been meaning to see it again for the last 4 years, but with kids it's rather hard to get a babysitter that'll watch the kids until 3am. Does anyone go anymore? There's only one theater in my area that plays it - there used to be a dozen within a 30 minute drive in it's heyday. I never dressed up or anything, just got into it in the audience. In recent weeks I've seen two articles about a resurgence in recent years. Is RH dying? Coming back?

I say, coming back mellow.
I dressed up a few times, but nothing compares to the first time. Ah, to be a virgin.

Its only good if you dress up.
Seriously, who here thinks Tim Curry is hot in that movie? I don't know what it is about him, but in Rocky Horror, he's king.

I thought this was a yearly event (Halloween). Not even star wars fans would get together every week for starwars viewing. We have a yearly show in Tampa, FL and it gets pretty intense. I was a virgin until last year.

When I was in rabbinical seminary in Jerusalem, Israel from 1999 to 2001 there was a very animated rabbi at my school. Amazing speaker, creative, dynamic, etc. Why do I write this seemingly unconnected bit?
His name was John Sinclair and was one of the authors of RHPS. He is now an Orthodox Rabbi living in Jerusalem, Israel.

It still plays around here as well as the Rocky Horror Show; several stage performances each year...one at an outdoor venue, one at an indoor venue. If you haven't seen the original, you should go. Twice actually. One to take notes and see the twists they put on and find the breaks where you can talk back, etc. Then the next night you will be all set to go.
Of course, the current theater list is very outdated: http://www.rockyhorror.com/midnt.html
And here is the 4 dates the play will be performed outdoors this year: http://www.palacenet.com/palacecalen...amp;loc_id=248

I used to go every weekend when it was at a local (suburban) theatre. There were actually a few casts in these parts around that time, showing every weekend. They all pretty much closed down about a decade ago, and now it's really only playing in the city (Chicago) on Fri/Sat once a month. I think there is also a show in Milwaukee a few times a year.
I keep meaning to go, but the fact that it's a midnight show combined with a one hour drive each way ... eh. I'm too old.
