Surely a new processor calls for a new look. What do you guys think the next generation of Macintosh will look like?

Can you imagine a PowerMac with an "Intel Inside" logo on the front of it?

Well, you can kiss goodbye to the clean look of iBooks and Powerbooks. Now the Apple laptop will be covered with stickers that say "Intel Inside," etc.

Just don't think that Steve would allow that to happen. IMHO it just looks so cheap.

As if the processor on the inside effects the design on the outside. Unless the apple designers all get drunk, it will still look like a mac... but the inside will never be the same...

Well I guess we all better jump ship and buy Dell...gimmie a break, if you support OS X the processor shouldn't matter. As long a the 64bit Intel chip runs the software and system I say go for it. This was not a hostil buy out or threat. Steve Jobs planned this since OS X v.0. Relax and this is not the switch to the Dark Side. If IBM would do their job and make a fast chip Steve wouldnt protect his company like this.

The hardware design still will be far superior to every other company. Why in hell would the design quality go down with a cpu change? We will see fast, well designed Apple Power Macs. The only thing that is worth to be worried about is the software issue.

I was under the impression that ANYTHING with an intel chip in it had to have one of those stickers or that annoying sound they overuse in comercials...

My Windows box has the sticker on it, but it certainly does NOT play that "annoying sound" you're referring to... neither does my Dell at work.

I would scrap off the 'Intel Inside' sticker if it was on any computer I bought.

I like my computers sleek and smooth.

Intel pays OEMs a subsidy in return for the sticker and the tagline at the end of their commercials.
