This WWDC bombshell has rocked my purchasing world. I am requesting helpful suggestions and buying advice. here's the skinny:

I have a Rev. A 15" Ti Powerbook with the 400 MHz G4 processor, a puny 10 Gig hardrive, a battery that lasts just over an hour, and 384 Megs of RAM. I've been thinking about upgrading to either the 12" Powerbook or 12" iBook.

Should I bite the bullet and get one of these two at the end of the summer, or should I upgrade my PB with a bigger harddrive, more ram, and a new battery so that it'll last me until the Intel Macs come out?

Will PPC macs become obsolete that much faster once Intel Macs arrive? Will Apple stop developing OS X for PPC architecture, leaving PPC users behind with 10.4.whatever, unable to upgrade to newer OSes.

I'm just afraid that, if I buy something this summer, it'll only have a 2 to 3 year shelf-life, rather than the 5 years I've squeaked out of this PB.

Thoughts?

If you need one, buy it as soon as possible.
The longer you wait, the more longer waiting would make sense...
