Please excuse me if this has already been asked, but I'm wondering if you guys know of a list of software that's already been ported to Intel?
What I'm interested in, mainly, is if this porting work is as easy as advertised?
If things have been pretty quiet, any notion as to when we'll hear from some developers about their experiences porting?

I know some one who is working on a boot loader for OS X x86, thinks he will have it working in a week or two which will allow it to run on any PC motherboard with a intel chipset.

Brian says (9:16 AM): I was looking at houses in Ottawa... I actually have a temptation in me to move
Jeff ******* says (9:19 AM): Eww, Ottawa is gross. It's infested with politicians, and presently, 1 Harper as well.

Doesn't really answer my question (which is fine, not trying to sound like an ass, but let me know if it was unclear)...
I wouldn't be surprised if we see a community of open source driver developers opening up for people who want to swap out their Mac hardware with other Intel-compatible hardware (e.g. cheap video cards for gaming).

It depends on your application, and your development tools. If you're still using CodeWarrior, it can be a somewhat annoying transition. If you're already using XCode, for most applications, it is not a difficult transition at all.
There are exceptions to all of this of course. Just getting some code to compile on GCC 4 can be annoying, but it's really good in the end, as most of the annoyances are due to non-optimal coding syntax.
It's easier than the transition from OS 9 to OS X, if that gives you a frame of reference. For Cocoa/Carbon developers that are already using XCode, it's usually a no-brainer.

I ported Check Off in about an hour. Most time was spent reading documentation and installing Xcode. The app is pure Cocoa though, so it should have been easy.
