I thought this was definately news worthy. I don't know if this is real or not, but it sure sounds really cool. This company has a Pentium-M CPU on a G4 style daughtercard that replaces your Cube's G4. They then provide custom drivers to allow Windows or Linux to access the Cube's mobo.
My only concern is the video card. Do you have to flash it? It just seems a little far fetched, but I hope it's real.
They claim it has a custom BIOS that runs on top of some software that talks to the OpenFirmware. So far, it only works with Cube, but how many companies like Sonnett, Gigadesigns, etc. will make Pentium CPU "upgrades" for your QuickSilver or other PowerMac?
If it's true, the future of existing PowerMacs looks very promising once people are forced to make the big move. In fact, I hope Apple works closely with these companies. How many people would buy Pentium CPU upgrades for their existing PowerMacs, then x86 version of Leopard?
Seems like a win/win for existing PowerMac users.

Some people say it's fake. Oh well. Sounded nifty.

It was posted on www.news.com/. They have a good track record these days right?
Sounds interesting.

Leopard developer preview is already on the P2P sites. It runs on standard Intel chipset motherboards that are similar in spec to the developer kit.
However, Apple doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. I'm wondering if this -- while maybe not intentional -- may be beneficial to Apple. Let everyone sort of try-before-you-buy type thing on their normal PCs. They'd get a real feal of of OS X and get use the iApps. If they like it, buy a Mac.
As for the whole Pentium in a Cube, I'm really beginning to doubt it. All the links and "articles" are just duplicates of the one I posted above.
I also can't find any information on this U-Power company anywhere other than in that article.
