Hope you enjoy yourself. It should be a great experience.

I was lucky enough to sit 2nd row bleachers in left center field at the 2003 Home Run Derby in Chicago, and I have to say that was one of the most enjoyable days of my life.

How much were they? I'll be back in the D that week so I might try to score some nosebleeds. Either way, I'll be at the Old Shillelagh afterwards.

I haven't watched the All-Star Game for years...

I blame Rickey for that.

Nah, baseball is. However, the double edge sword that is fan voting, needs to be fixed. That is my only problem with it. Up until early this week, NL still included Nomar at SS and he has only played like 14 games this year. Idiot fans. But, finally, a couple more deserving have moved ahead of him finally.

Since Tigers can't field a damn winning team, we only get the ****ing damn league mandated '1 player from every team' most the time. But since we host it, we should get one player in the home run derby (deserving or not the host team has had a player in the last few years so we should get one). Not sure if that counts as our '1 player from each team'. Also, we may get to see bonderman in it as pitchers are picked by the manager of the game, not the fans.

I vote for neither. I'd much rather watch the Pro Bowl.

2003, Chicago, Frank Thomas was in the top 5 in the AL in home runs, possibly leading the AL. He wasn't invited to the Derby, because he wasn't voted onto the All-Star team. The DH position went to Carl Everett, who had played DH in one game all season. The voting is dumb.

OK, Rodgers is an idiot. A very contrite idiot, but still an idiot. We get that. Can the nice men on the TV please stop talking about him?
