This is a great show.
It's really great to hear some of the old hits and good to see what they look like now.

By the way, they do one of their old hits and then they do a new current song. This week Wang Chung is on, Howard Jones, Cameo, Sophie B. Hawkins, and Irene Cara. These people sound much better than the majority of the American Idol finalists even though it's been years since they've had a hit. At the end of the night the audience votes to see who still sounds best. I like hearing and seeing what they've been doing with their lives.

Howard Jones was the best this evening, in my opinion.

I like the 80s as much as anybody, but IMHO this show is just painful to watch.
However, it does go to show that given a enough time, the American public will re-embrace almost anything, no matter how cheesy or awful it was "back in the day". I cite "Ice Ice, Baby" from last week's episode as an example. The audience went crazy for it.

Don't you think it's really weird to see the "stars" from the 80s?
I mean, C'MON!
It's interesting to see what they're doing now.

I thought it was weird back in the 80's. It made me want to projectile vomit right at them!

"Great" is not a modifier I'd use in conjunction with "Wang Chung," unless it was, say, perhaps on a list of "Ten Great Reasons to Pull My Own Head Off."

Which one? As I Lay Me Down? Right Beside You? Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover? Before I Walk on Fire?
I don't see how Sophie B Hawkins could really qualify as an 80's artist, anyway: her first album came out in 1992. And yes, I have it; Tongues and Tails is a pretty good album, as is Whaler.
